Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

etrailer.com Technical Support

by:
2006 Honda Accord

This hitch fit my car perfictly. fastdelivery too.
the install vidieo was great

by:

Installation notes: 1. For the front exhaust hanger, note from the video that he pulls the hanger to the side and not front to back. He takes it off the two pegs. This is shown quickly and it is easy to miss.
2. There is not much space above the exhaust and in the video he uses an angle. I also used a short socket and not a deep one.

by:
2007 Honda Accord

Incredibly fast delivery. Product fits nice and accepts my receiver Thule bike rack perfect. Install went smooth but what a pain in the butt without a lift and extra set of hands. The 6cyl models require the removal of heat shields to drill one hole per side then reinstall. All in all everything went well, took about hour or so.

by:

This is a great hitch. Installation was simple (after I figured out how to drop the muffler.. the secret was a using screw driver behind the rubber mount above the muffler) Will definitely buy this brand again.

by:

I am very happy overall. This was an easy product to order, it was shipped promptly, and the install was much easier and quicker than I thought it would be. The video tutorials are indispensable.

by:

Install was straight forward and simple. Order was correct, shipping was fast.
Only minor issue was one washer was too small for the bolt that goes through the center loop under the spare tire well. Put on a lock washer we had laying around and solved. Trailer wiring kit was a piece of cake.

Would definitely order from here again and recommend you guys to anyone that needs a trailer hitch or accessory. Excellent

Video Intallation helped a lotThe video installation guide helped a lot in installing. Made it very easy! Something back there is clinking a little over big bumps, but it appears to have worked itself out.

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2003 Honda Accord EX 4-Door Sedan for Use with Out-Sider ASL-250 Lift
All of the hitch receivers offered for your 2003 Honda Accord are the 1-1/4-inch size and rated as Class I hitches. Class I hitches are considered suitable for light-duty use, such as with 2-bike racks, small cargo baskets and for light towing applications. The 142-lb Out-Sider ASL-250 Platform Lift is intended for use with 2-inch Class II or Class III receivers and so is not compatible with the 1-1/4-inch Class I hitches available for your Accord. You cannot use a hitch adapter in your...

  • What is the Difference Between Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitches for a 2007 Honda Accord
There are only so many different hitch designs for any given vehicle. For your 2007 Honda Accord the Draw-Tite hitch # 24787 and Curt hitch # C11327 have the same basic design. This is because of where the best places are on the vehicle to attach a hitch. That is why they look so similar though they are made by 2 different manufacturers. The biggest difference between them is Curt says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a...

  • Will Trailer Hitch Adapter on 2004 Honda Accord Allow Use of Motorcycle Dolly
The use of an adapter such as the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HTAD will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on your 2004 Honda Accord by 50 percent. With a Class I hitch like the Draw-Tite # 24787 on your '04 Accord with a 200 lb tongue weight capacity, the use of an adapter reduces it to 100 lbs. A 60 lb dolly and 500 lb scooter will exceed the tongue weight capacity and is not something I recommend doing.

  • Is There a Class lll Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2003 Honda Accord?
There is not a 2 inch hitch available for your 2003 Honda Accord. The manufacturer doesn't make one because the frame can't handle most accessories that would be overloading the frame. The 1-1/4 hitch is even restricted to a class I so there is a welded plate to even restrict certain 1-1/4 inch accessories to limit weight and movement to protect the frame. I recommend going with the Draw-Tite hitch # 24787 or Curt # C11290 and then if you really need a 2 inch receiver you can use the...

  • Recommended Towing Package for a 2007 Honda Accord
For your 2007 Honda Accord, I recommend taking a look at the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24787. This hitch has a Class I rating with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. The maximum gross trailer weight (GTW) and tongue weight (TW) this hitch can handle is 2,000 lbs and 200 lbs respectively. This is the only trailer hitch receiver that we have confirmed to fit your vehicle that does not require drilling for installation and is completely bolt-on. I have also attached an...

  • 2007 Honda Accord V6 Sedan Towing Capacity and Hitch Recommendation
To answer the most basic part of this question first, you are correct that only Class I hitches with 1-1/4" receivers are available for your 2007 Honda Accord, but if your weight estimates are correct, they will be sufficient to handle this job. I did some research and according to the owner's manual of the 2007 Honda Accord, it has a 1000-lbs towing capacity; it also looks like your Yamaha YZF R1 has a wet weight of around 450-lbs. As long as your total weight of trailer and bike stay...

  • Why Does The Ball Mount Not Slide All The Way In My Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch # 24787
The Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 24787, is a Class I hitch. All of the hitches available for your 2007 Honda Accord are Class I hitches. The Class I hitch has a 2,000 lbs. towing capacity and a 200 lbs. tongue weight capacity. Sounds like the ball mount you are using is a Class II ball mount. The Class II ball mount is rated for 3,500 lbs. towing capacity and 350 lbs. tongue weight. It is designed to NOT fit a Class I hitch to keep somebody from overloading the Class I hitch....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Honda Accord
Unfortunately we only carry Class I Hitches with a 1-1/4" receiver for your 2006 Honda Accord Sedan. This is because your vehicle has a Gross Towing Weight Capacity of 1,000 lbs. and a Tongue Weight Capacity of 100 lbs. The hitch I recommend for your 2006 Honda Accord Sedan is the Draw-Tite Class I Hitch # 24787. • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2006 Honda Accord for Mobility Scooter
For your 2006 Honda Accord sedan, I recommend using the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24787 you referenced. It is only a Class I which is all that is allowed for your vehicle, so your max capacity is 200 lbs. Based on my research the Pride Go Go Elite Traveler scooter is 76 lbs and 37 by 19.5 inches. I recommend using cargo carrier #C18110 which will work well with your hitch and scooter. We don't have any carriers that have a ramp for the class I compatible carriers...

  • Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack for a 2006 Honda Accord
Yes, they'll work fine together! The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack item # C18085 works with class I hitches like the Draw-Tite item # 24787. No, the use of the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap for Hitch-Mounted Accessories item # 18050 is not required for use with Draw-Tite hitches just Curt ones. It wouldn't hurt but you're not required to for warranty reasons. The Draw-Tite Hitch item # 24787 is confirmed to fit both the sedan and coupe models of the 2006 Honda Accord.

  • Will Brophy Rising Hitch Adapter Clear Rear Bumper on 2013 Honda Accord
On adapter # HT5R it measures 3-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright that supports the 2 inch receiver. For Curt hitch # C11681 for the 2013 Honda Accord it should measure about 2-1/2 inches to clear the rear bumper so the adapter would work. However, the use of an adapter reduces the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent and it also puts additional stress on the hitch. That would mean instead of 200 pounds the tongue weight capacity will...

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for 2006 Honda Accord Sedan
Deciding how to carry bikes on a 2006 Honda Accord is tricky because your vehicle has a 2 bike limit when using a hitch-mount bike rack, however you can carry 3 bikes if you use a trunk mount bike rack. If carrying 3 bikes is a priority, for a 3 bike trunk-mount carrier I recommend the Thule OutWay 3 # TH56BV. This is my favorite bike rack because of the retractable cables and hooks that you use to anchor your bike rack to your vehicle. These cables will not fatigue like straps and are...

  • Bike Rack Recommendations for Trunk Access on a 2004 Honda Accord Coupe
There are many bike rack options that allow you to access your trunk without removing the rack from your vehicle, but these rack options are hitch-mounted. Unfortunately, trunk mounted racks are designed to be removed prior to opening your trunk. If you open the rear hatch of your vehicle with a trunk mounted rack attached, you risk damaging your vehicle. If you're looking for a trunk mounted bike rack and need to remove/install the rack frequently for trunk access, I would recommend...

For the installation of Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 24787, on your 2004 Honda Accord V6 Hitch, you will need to drill through the heat shield to install it correctly. Drilling through the heat shield where it mounts to the frame rail will not weaken its effectiveness as the metal from the frame rail is still behind the hole and the hole being drilled will have a bolt through it going into the frame rail. The heat shield on the vehicle is designed to dissipate and...

By that measure this golf cart job will be in excess of what Honda recommends. For smaller towing jobs under that limit, the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24787 with T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118302 and the Curt Class II Euro Style Drawbar with 2" Ball # C45562 would be a fine setup...
