Why Does The Ball Mount Not Slide All The Way In My Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch # 24787

Question:
I bought the Drawtite hitch for my 07 Accord 24787, but my ball mount wont slide all the way in. There is a dimple machined into the inside of the receiver that blocks it. What do I do now?

The Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 24787, is a Class I hitch. All of the hitches available for your 2007 Honda Accord are Class I hitches. The Class I hitch has a 2,000 lbs. towing capacity and a 200 lbs. tongue weight capacity.
Sounds like the ball mount you are using is a Class II ball mount. The Class II ball mount is rated for 3,500 lbs. towing capacity and 350 lbs. tongue weight. It is designed to NOT fit a Class I hitch to keep somebody from overloading the Class I hitch. The Class I hitch will have a stopper or dimple in the hitch to keep a Class II ball mount or Class II hitch accessory from going all the way in the hitch.
The recommended ball mount for the Draw-Tite hitch # 24787 is the Draw-Tite Ball Mount, part # 3592. This ball mount will fit your Class I hitch and give you the correct 2-1/8 inch rise or 2-3/4 drop that is needed on your 2007 Honda Accord. It includes the pin and clip.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on trailer hitch receiver sizes that will describe the Class I and Class II differences.
