Your 5.7L HEMI spent the night in freezing weather, but you still have places to be. This Zerostart cartridge heater warms the engine block before startup, easing cold-start strain without opening the cooling system.
Your HEMI might have spent the night outside in freezing weather, but your truck still has work to do, or your SUV or car needs to get you where you're going. Cold engine parts and thickened oil can make those first few moments after startup harder on the engine. This 600-watt Zerostart heater warms the engine block before you turn the key, reducing cold-start strain and helping the engine reach operating temperature sooner. It's a practical way to prepare your vehicle for winter mornings without starting from a completely cold engine.
If you've looked into freeze-plug heaters, you know installation can involve draining coolant and removing a plug from the engine block. This cartridge heater takes a different approach. It slides into a dedicated dry cavity in your 5.7L HEMI, transferring heat through the surrounding engine metal. You don't need to drain coolant, remove a freeze plug, or open the cooling system.
Zerostart identifies the left rear (LR) of the engine block as the installation location for the listed 5.7L HEMI applications. Before starting, confirm your specific vehicle and engine using the fit guide, then locate the designated cavity using the manufacturer's instructions. Clean out any dirt or debris, make sure the cartridge seats properly, and secure it as directed. Access may be tight at the rear of the engine, but there's no need to modify the cartridge or cooling system to make it fit.
The included 7' silicone cord can be routed toward the front grille or another accessible spot, giving you a convenient place to plug in before a winter departure. Secure the cord away from exhaust components, sharp edges, belts, and other moving parts, leaving enough slack for engine vibration. The included protective cap covers the power plug when it's not in use, helping keep out dirt and debris. The power cord is removable, so damage to the cord doesn't mean replacing the entire heater, you can just pick up a replacement cord.
Zerostart is a Phillips & Temro brand. You might recognize Phillips & Temro from original-equipment engine-heating applications even if the Zerostart name is unfamiliar. The company develops heating products for factory and aftermarket applications, including cartridge heaters made for specific engines. That experience is useful when you're looking for a heater that needs to fit properly in a designated engine-block cavity.
This heater installs in a dedicated dry cavity in the engine block. Coolant draining and freeze-plug removal are not required. Confirm the specified installation location for your engine before beginning. Make sure the cavity is clean and free of debris, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for securing the cartridge. Do not force or modify the heater to fit an opening that does not properly accommodate it.
Never plug in the heater before it has been properly installed in the engine block. The cartridge depends on contact with the surrounding engine metal to transfer heat safely. Operating it outside the designated cavity can cause overheating, burns, or damage to the heating element. If you need to check electrical operation, follow the manufacturer's approved testing procedure with the heater disconnected from power.
Connect the heater to a properly grounded 120V outlet. If an extension cord is needed, use a grounded 3-wire cord rated for outdoor use and the electrical load. Route the cord away from exhaust components, sharp edges, and moving parts. Also, remember to always unplug the heater before starting or driving your vehicle.
Firmly grasp the plugs when disconnecting the heater from an extension cord. Never pull on the cords themselves. Replace a damaged cord with a compatible Zerostart replacement. Manufacturer part 3600121 is the specified replacement for this heater.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at the Zerostart custom fit cartridge style engine block heater. Now, this has been designed specifically to fit your 2003 to 2019 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles, equipped with the 5.7 liter V8 hemi engine. This includes the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500s, the Chrysler 300 and Aspen, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Commanders. Now on custom fit parts, such as this heater, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Just input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our fit guide will confirm if this heater will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
This heater is designed to make cold weather starts much easier on both you and your vehicle. This prewarms the engine before you start it. So even on those freezing mornings, your engine's gonna fire right up instead of struggling. That smoother start isn't just convenient though. It also helps protect your engine by reducing the extra wear and strain that normally happens during cold, dry starts.
So again, as we saw, this is built specifically for your vehicle's engine, so what's nice about that is you're not gonna be guessing about fit or compatibility. But once installed, this is going to give you consistent heating power, giving you 600 watts at 120 volts to keep your engine coolant warm and ready to go. Now, this power cord is made to handle real-world use. It's durable. It's about five feet long.
It's a silicone cord, so it's gonna hold up really well in those cold weather conditions. And as you can see here, I don't have this connected, but I did, the reason for that is I wanted to show you that it can be removed from this heater when you don't need it. So you can easily store the cord. But another benefit is if this cord somehow gets damaged, you're not gonna have to replace the whole heater. You can just replace that cord, so that's a plus.
What I do like about this as well is this does come with a cap, a protector, if you will, for the three prong plug that you plug into your 120 volt outlet or extension cord. So that's a nice plus as well. So overall, this is gonna be a practical upgrade, if you deal with cold climates and you want easier starts, better engine protection, and peace of mind during winter driving. It includes everything that you see here. Instructions are also included to guide you through that installation process. If you happen to have any other questions about this or anything that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
