This cat-back exhaust system has technologically advanced, mandrel-bent tubing and 3 mufflers, which allow exhaust to flow freely, boosting horsepower and torque and thereby improving engine performance and durability.
Features:
Specs:
The cat-back system is the portion of the exhaust system from the outlet of the catalytic converter back to the tailpipe. MagnaFlow systems boast mandrel-bent tubes that allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter through every curve. This consistency in diameter decreases back pressure. Each MagnaFlow performance muffler has a stainless steel, perforated core that runs through it - end to end - with no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow. A layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, regulate high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts. Together, the mandrel-bent tubes and mufflers in this system increase horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency. MagnaFlow's signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle while remaining quiet inside your vehicle. All system components are made with 100-percent stainless steel. Clamps and hangers are included for installing onto the OEM exhaust system. MagnaFlow provides a lifetime warranty.

Today, on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be installing the Magna Flow Cat Back Exhaust System, Part Number MF16991. To begin our install, we'll first need to remove the older manufacturer's exhaust. Starting here at the rear of the vehicle, we're going to spray the two rubber isolators, forward and back of the muffler. I'll also go ahead and spray the spring nuts that hold the rear section of the exhaust to the forward section of the exhaust at the exhaust flanges. By spraying the rubber isolators with some spray lubricant, it'll make it easier to remove. We're going to use a pry bar, pliers or, if you have an exhaust hanger removal tool. Starting at the back, we'll begin removing the rubber isolators, noting that on the rear hangers, there's also a metal ground strap.
We'll need to remove that from the hanger, also. With the rear two hangers removed, we'll need to remove the center two rubber hangers. To remove these two, it's easier to go ahead and remove the bracket from the body of the vehicle. We'll go ahead and remove the two fasteners that secure each bracket and then we'll remove the forward hardware. Here there are a total of four fasteners. There are nuts with springs built on to them, for the spring nuts. Then, we go ahead and carefully lower the exhaust and remove it out from underneath the vehicle.
After we go ahead and set the old exhaust aside, we'll need to remove the center two hangers that we left on to the exhaust earlier. We'll just go ahead and use our exhaust hanger removal tool to pry the rubberized slater 00:01:42 off of the metal hanger. We'll then go ahead and re-install these hangers back on to the vehicle with the fasteners we removed earlier. Now, we're ready to install the new Magna Flow Exhaust System. They'll be a total of four sections installed. Starting at the front and working our way back.
We'll use the new bolts that will go through the Magna Flow Exhaust flange, then through the manufacturer's flange and secure it with a spring nut. We'll install both sides finger tight, leaving all our hardware loose until we have it in place. Now, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on the other side. Next, we'll take two exhaust clamps and slide it on to the two forward pieces we just installed. These two exhaust clamps will secure the center section to the forward two pieces. Next, we'll go ahead and install the center section feeding it over the forward mufflers.
Once we have them in place, we're then ready to install the rear muffler. To install the rear muffler, we'll feed the metal hangers into the rubber isolators and then the neck of the muffler over the exhaust pipe. Now, with everything in place, we're ready to go ahead and tighten it down. As we tighten everything down, we'll make sure we have ample clearance in between the exhaust and the body. Now, with everything tightened down, we're ready to hit the road. That does it for the install of the Magna Flow Cat Back Exhaust System, Part Number Mf16991, on our 2012 Jeep Grand Jerokee. .

So during highway driving the drone is at a minimum? I have kids too and we take a lot of family trips. My concern is the drone. thanks,

Response to B. Kallan~ Highway noise is quite bearable, unless youre knee deep in your pedal. Going uphill it will be much louder, as it will with any acceleration. Constant highway speeds will result in a nice, mellow sound. Hope this helps!

Easy install because it is tailored to the trailblazer ss. Sounds good from the start but gets better over time. A little louder than stock but still a quiet throaty tone in the cabin at cruising speeds. Would highly recommend.
