Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Thule Replacement Latch and Keys for your Thule RodVault Fishing Rod Racks. This is going to replace one latch and two keyed alike keys for your Thule Rod Rack Fishing Rod Rack. This will work for the Two, the ST, and the Four models. So if you have any of those, you can trust this is gonna be exactly what you need. You're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that.

So this will do a great job of allowing you to secure your fishing rods and then have that key there to make sure that it's going to be locked up when you're not around so no one can take away, take your take off with your gear. So pretty simple installation, right in place of the original. Because it is a Thule product, you can trust it is gonna fit, no compatibility issues or anything like that. Fit perfect. I technically have a Denver outfitters 3 rod holder (old old, which Thule bought out) and worked fine. Simple install, one screw.

Hey John, I've had a similar question to this before and what I was able to find is that what you'll have to do is replace the entire locking assembly with the part # TH85ME that you referenced as there isn't a key replacement available.

Replacement Keys for Thule RodVault
Hi Eric; we do have replacement keys for the Thule RodVault but they are specific to the lock core. Take a look at the face of the lock core, or on the inside if possible, to identify which lock you have. For example, if you have C21312 the replacement key would be the # TH97VK.

Do You Carry Replacement Keys For the Rod Vault From Denver Outfitters?
As you have the older Rod Vault from Denver Outfitters you will need the Replacement Latch and Keys # TH85ME. This is needed as the key alone will not work as a replacement for the Original Rod Vaults before they were acquired by Thule.

You will need the Replacement Latch and Keys # TH85ME for the Thule Rod Vault # TH27YV, or # TH87YV. This will also fit the original Rod Vault which came from Denver Outfitters like you have. Thule does not carry any replacement keys for the units like yours but you are able to replace the entire latch to use the new keys. The Replacement Key # TH22EH you found will only fit the ones using a key A21312 for the lock cylinder.

Since you have an older model from before Thule acquired this fishing rod holder the only way to get a replacement key would be secondhand. You can however replace the entire lock assembly with the Replacement Locking Lever Latch and Keys for Thule RodVault Fishing Rod Racks # TH85ME, which will come with a key and replacement options if you ever lost the key again.

Hi Janice; the Replacement Locking Lever Latch and Keys for Thule RodVault # TH85ME will fit your Denver Outfitter 4 Vault. The screw is part of the lever and doesn't attach to anything else. If you look up old pictures of the Denver Outfitter you can see that piece with the screw sticking out is on the lever latch.

I can't find any type of reference anywhere to a D23323 code, but the Replacement Locking Lever Latch and Keys # TH85ME will work for you so long as you have the Thule RodVault 2 part 870002, Thule RodVault 4 part 870004, or Thule RodVault ST part 870011.
