If you've got a short bed truck or a gooseneck trailer that cuts in too tight, you know how close things can get in a turn. The 9" offset on this coupler moves the hitch point forward to give your trailer more breathing room up front, helping you clear the cab when backing up or cornering sharp.
The Shift Lock coupler uses a dual-jaw design to grab both sides of the 2-5/16" ball, creating a firm, centered connection that holds steady under tension. Many latches only grab your ball from one side, which can leave room for slop. This one clamps evenly and helps cut the jolt when you take off or stop. The locking handle sits up top, so you can see when it's latched. And if you're leaving your trailer hooked up somewhere, the InfiniteRule lock (IR66FR - sold separately) keeps the latch from being opened so no one can pull up and take it.
Towing capacity is limited by the lowest rated component in your setup.
If you have a recessed gooseneck ball, there must be at least a 12" x 12" opening in your bed for this coupler to work. In addition, the top of the hitch ball cannot be more than 2" from the top of the bed.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at our Shocker Hitch. It's a Gooseneck Coupler with Shift Lock and a 9-inch Offset and it fits a 2-5/16-inch Gooseneck Ball and it's and it's gonna have a 4-1/2-inch square tube stem. So folks, as you can see, this has a built-in offset that's gonna give you that cab clearance that you need. It gives you a 9 inch forward extension, that way, you're not gonna worry about hitting those cabs and stuff, especially on the short bed trucks and those kind of things.
So it's a secure hookup. As far as latching and everything, once you get the ball, just lower down the ball, you would simply lock it like that to keep it locked and then you just put the safety pin in place. And that has a spring loaded latch. And then of course, you have this other safety pin, and whenever you disconnect that from here, one second, there we go, you could now potentially put this down here in one of the holes, I'm just gonna get it unwound over here, to keep this from sliding back out as well. So it's kind of like a double safety built-in feature there.
So pretty nice. And again, it's a 4-1/2-inch by 4-1/2-inch tube. Everything here is a heavy-duty steel construction. It's been welded with robotic welding technology, so you can be sure the welds are super strong and durable. And it's a thick wall tubing, so everything's gonna hold up under those heavy loads.
Again, rated up to 30,000 pounds capacity. This will be a great option for rebuilds, maybe a replacement. So if your original stem got worn, bent, outdated, or something like that, or you're just changing to this design for whatever reason, this would replace that existing inner tube. Slide that out, pop this right in, and then you're good to go. Now, as far as the adjustment here, you have four holes of adjustment, and those are gonna be 2-3/4 inches apart on center.
And you're gonna use your preexisting pin to hold that in place. Now, you must have a straight safety pin hole set up on your preexisting tube that's there. And if you have a recessed gooseneck ball, you're gonna need at least 12 inches by 12 inches of opening in your bed for this particular coupler to work. And then in addition to that, the top of the hitch ball in your bed cannot be more than two inches from the top of the bed. So again, that's all for safety and the way they designed everything. So make sure you're double checking all those specs and everything to be in compliance with the manufacturer's regulations so this can work the best possible way and be safe.
