Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, interlocking, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator on the rear of the hitch to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

It took about an hour and it would have been nice if the directions would have told you what height each set of holes would produce. I'd recomend using some marine grease on the four puck joints prior to trying to lock them in. I really like this new hitch puck truck system over the Reese hitch with the bed mounted bars. I'd highly recommend this hitch if you have the factory GMC /Chevrolet puck system. The e trailer online help was truly appreciated as it steered me to the proper hitch for our new truck.
Very easy install. Looks great. Functions perfect. Easy hook up to fifth wheel. Perfect fit for my 2017 gmc HD Denali 3/4 ton with factory installed fifth wheel plate. Love it thanks. Just what I was looking for. Better than paying 1,000 dollars at chevy dealer for them to order.
We got this for our 2019 Chevrolet 3500HD. Received it a day earlier than we were told. It was easy to put together. The instructions were clear on what to do. We did have to adjust one of the bolts in order to get it to lock into place but other than that a very nice unit. We feel it was money well spent. Will definitely feel safe using it to pull our 2018 Open Range 370RBS.

Fit the puck system in my Silverado with minor depth adjustments. Very easy to use. The color codes allow you to hook up to the hitch with confidence that you are locked in. Very pleased with the product.
Unit does what is supposed to. It handles our 36' Solitude with no problems. It clunks or chucks as some call it pretty good when getting on the brakes and accelerating hard which is an uncomfortable sound. The hitch indicator is nice.
I really like the dual jaw, with my last hitch it sounded like the king pin would fly out of the hitch when I hit a bump.

The Curt A16 5th wheel w/ R16 slider is a great looking hitch. I received the hitch on May 11, 2023, replacing an older Reese 15K hitch with a slider lock bar. It was easy to finish the assembly and install. I immediately took my fifth wheel out, using the new hitch with the dual jaw locking system. The ride was amazing. The RV, which weighs approximately 10,000 pounds, loaded, did not buck or rattle, and responded perfectly to the turns, acceleration and deceleration with no issue. It was if there was nothing behind me.
The only issue with the Curt A16 is the height. At its lowest setting, the nose of the trailer was up too high. However, by raising the tongue of the RV to its highest setting, I was able to remedy most of that issue. I am looking forward to my trips this year with the new hitch!
So far it works great. Only pulled in a short distance and backed it up into my driveway. Make sure you have help lifting this. Very Very heavy. Directions were average but got the job done. Love the extra turning radius on my short bed F250. Make sure all the parts are there. The handle to release the king pin off the hitch was not in the packaging. The box that the hitch and slide came in were all in tacked and looked good. Emailed etrailer and within a few hours they sent were processing the order for the handle. Arrived in 2 days. That's great customer service.
Looks like a received a returned hitch. All my hardware is missing. And still waiting on one box. The sliding rails. Starting off to a bad start.
I purchased both the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs - C16120, and Reese Pull Pin Lock Plates for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - Qty 4 - RP58093 for my F350 SD 4X4 Crew Cab Long Bed. I'm pulling a 30' Retro 5th. Wheel and at times I pull my tandem axle UTV Trailer (Double Trailers) . I already had the rails installed in my truck, this fit right in and I used the new Pins and Lock Plates for securing to truck. I have pulled all over from South Dakota and the Northwest. The Hitch has performed Flawlessly. No bucking, nor clunking. Very quiet and smooth ride. I would recommend this set up to anyone for convenience of Hook up and Disconnect, Excellent towing, quiet, and the security of the lock pins. I use Disc locks to prevent access for bolt cutters.
First off I just got done installing the hitch and I hooked on my 35ft fith wheel trailer and went for a ride with windows down sun roof open and not a single rattle , clank , or noise from the bed of the truck with this hitch . It was easy to assemble but I did have one spot where the paint got chipped on the slider during shipping so I just touched it up . Very satisfied with hitch it latches automatically when you back in to it and the slider part works like it should .
I was fully expecting a hitch in excess of 100 pounds to show up in a destroyed box. This did not. They had taken the Time and effort to cover the box with an additional layer of cardboard and it must have had a million staples in it. It was almost comical, you will need a crowbar or large screwdriver to get it open. However, when I did finally get the package open I found a perfectly un scratched hitch with no missing parts. I have not pulled with the hitch yet but , it does look like it is going to perform great. I'm using this in a 2006 ram 2500 4x4 short bed pulling a 2015 forest river Salem and it allows 91 degrees of turning due to the clipped corners on the front cap of the trailer. I will be curious to see how long the rubber isolators last before needing replaced and if they are readily available. Also the curt sticker on the hitch was peeling off when I took it out of the box, would be nice to get that replaced.
Upgraded from TT to fifth wheel. Once I learned the basic operation I have had mo problems with this hitch. Rides a little high because of adapter for factory puck adaptor but still fits my tonneau cover which I also bought from etrailer.
Very happy with this hitch. Installed it myself with the installation instructions and trailer videos. Mush easier to operate than my old hitch.
