Question:

I have a 15k Hitchhiker 5th wheel hitch that slides into truck mounted rails that ran front to back of the pickup bed. The hitch then locked into the holes in the rails. I now have a 2018 GMC Sierra that has the OEM puck system for the 5th wheel hitch. I haven’t been able to determine if there is an adapter that would work with this hitch?

There is not an adapter for the 15K Hitchhiker 5th wheel hitch you have with rails running front to back. The only adapter currently available is the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for 8 foot bed # DM6206 of the 6-1/2 foot bed adapter # DM6194. Both of these are rated for up to 21,000 lbs and will give you the industry standard rail locations for the hitches compatible with the horizontal bed rails.

My recommendation is to use the Curt A16 # C16520-16025 for a long bed truck or short bed sliding hitch # C16668 if you have the 6-1/2 foot bed. Both hitches have a dual jaw system and will attach to your factory puck locations. They also have a 3-point color indicator system to show the status of your connection or disconnection to assist when connecting and disconnecting your trailer. These hitch options will be a better fit by not using an adapter and will give you the clean bed the OEM puck system was designed for. Let me know if you have more questions.
