This is Curt with etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the BioLite Charge 100 Max Portable Power Station. Now a portable power station is gonna come in really handy for, you know, anybody on the go anywhere where you're not gonna have access to a wall outlet or anything like that. And you want to keep your devices powered up and good to go. So a couple of instances you might want to use this would be like on a camping trip, if you have no electricity at your site, you know, a long hike or something like that, this is portable enough to throw in a backpack and take with you. Make sure your phone, tablet, GPS, headlamp, anything you need out there that might need to charge, you're gonna have this to make sure that you're good to go. Another great instance where you might want to use it would be, you know, on a flight or traveling, this is FAA carry on approved.
So feel free to take it with you on a flight to the airport. You know, if you're one of those people that has a long flight that you want to keep your device charged, or if you, you know, travel a lot, you bounce between airports, we've all been there where our device is running out. We gotta go all over the terminal to find an outlet to plug it in. This is gonna eliminate any of that. You'll be able to take it with you on the flight, use it in the terminal, making sure everything stays charged.
So the way this is going to work is we're gonna go ahead and push this button once to turn it on. And you could see that power light indicator that it's almost at a full charge, but not quite. There are two USBC-PD ports, PD meaning power distribution. So anytime you're thinking of like a quick charge or anything like that, that's the type of outlet that you want to use. This port right here is also where you will run your USBC in order to charge this.
We also have a 15 watt USBC. Now this will be for your smaller devices, you know, headphones, a headlamp or anything like that that you might have. And then a standard USB port here. There is also a magnetic charging dock on the top that will allow you to simply place your phone on it and get it charged that way. So this does allow you to charge up to five devices at once because of those capabilities.
In order to get this charged, as I mentioned before, we are going to use this 65 watt in port. Now the three different ways that you can charge this is gonna be with a USBC 65 watt power block. That can be picked up really at any place that sells any kind of small electronics. I've even seen them in a lot of gas stations around. You can plug a portable solar panel into this as well in order to charge it. Or if you have a power station like we have right here, it can be plugged in here to be charged up as well. Now, one of the things that you wanna make sure of when you're using a power station like this, because this both receives and gives power, we don't want to confuse the two devices and I don't want to be charging this off of our portable device. It'll drain this really quick. In order to make sure the power is gonna come from here to here, what we're gonna end up doing is we're gonna give this a double tap on the gray button there. We're gonna go ahead and plug in and we'll give that double tap again right there and now, as you could see, it's going down and it's gonna be blinking where the battery life is at. So we're almost at a full charge. This is gonna continue charging it this way, but having that kind of versatility in how you get this charge is a real bonus because that just makes it, you know, you're able to use it in all sorts of different situations, whether you're out camping in the middle of nowhere or, you know if, again, like you're stuck in an airport or something like that. As far as, you know, how long this will last in order to charge your devices, what you're gonna end up with really thereabouts is say a cell phone. You'll get seven full charges off of a full battery of this, a tablet, three full charges, a laptop, about two. And if you're using the 15 watt for one of those smaller devices, something like a BioLite Headlamp, you're gonna get about 30 charge cycles out of that. Now, if after watching this video, you decide that this is the portable charge station for you, you get it, you use it a few times, please share with us in the comments below what you think about it. We would love to share your experience with our other neighbors so they can make the best decision for themselves. So once again, this is the BioLite 100 Max Portable Charging Station. I'm Curt with etrailer. Thanks for stopping by.
So far, I have only been able to get 3 1/2 recharges on my iPhone 15 Pro (with the battery at about 25%). The Biolite website says that it will recharge a smartphone 07 times.
I use it to power a small laptop and portable monitor in addition to chagring my iPhone, iPad. Most useful camping and during power outages. My experience with BioLite products has been very positive.
