Today we're going to be taking a look at the Custer 10-Watt White LED Strobe Light. This hideaway light features a unique appearance, compact structure, convenient operation and diverse flash patterns. The white LED strobe light is specifically designed to assist all types of emergency vehicles, and it can be used for other applications as well. It's going to offer 14 different flash patterns that add a lot of variety to the unit. It does not include an always constant mode, so please keep that in mind. All of the patterns are going to be listed out in the included manual here, so it goes through all 14. Some of the ones to mention, it's going to have quad-flash and single-flash, double-flash and single, five consecutive flash, single-flash one and single-flash two.
So it's going to have 14 different options that you can chose from. The light can be mounted in a variety of different areas. Again it's a nice compact design. It does come with a mounting bracket and some hardware. Now, the hardware can be used to get the light mounted or that hardware can be used for this control box right here, because this will need to be mounted as well. It's got a mount hole located on each end.
So if you want to use screws to mount both of the units then you will need to provide two more additional screws, but two are included. That's going to be a small bolt with a flat washer, lock washer, and nut. It's also going to come with a gasket for a weather-tight seal, nice tight seal at the mounting area, and the bracket's a really nice design as well. Just fits over the light, gives the light a clean finished look. It can be mounted with or without the bracket. This power wire is going to give us a measurement of 8-1/2 feet long.
It is a two piece design, so it's got this quick connect right here. You just unthread that and then it detaches, so it is a two piece construction when it comes to the power wire. Again, that's going to measure a total of 8-1/2 feet long, right around that area. And it's a four wire design, so your black wire is your ground wire. Your red wire is your power wire.
White wire is for a switch, that way you can go from pattern to pattern. Switch is not included, that is sold separately. We do have some options here at etrailer.com. And then the green wire is going to be a sync wire. This allows you to connect more than one light, and this wire is a sync wire allowing you to sync the lights together. A few measurements to go over with you real quick and then we'll hook it up to power and go through some of the flash patterns. The diameter of the lens, that's going to give us a diameter of 1 inch. The mounting bracket measures about 2-3/8 of an inch by 2 inches, and those mount holes are separated apart from one another on center by 1-7/8 of an inch. With the unit installed over the light like that it's going to give us an overall height, or overall depth, of about 3/4 of an inch tall. The base of the light, that's going to give us a diameter of around 1-1/2 inch, and then that's going to contain two mount holes and those mount holes are separated on center apart from one another by about 1-1/4 inch. The control box right here, this is going to give us an overall length measurement of about 4-3/4 of an inch, and then a width measurement of about 1 inch wide, and then a depth measurement of about 7/16 of an inch. So a nice low profile design. You can easily get that mounted in a safe, out-of-the-way location. All right, we're going to go ahead and hook it up to power. This is a very bright LED light. Again, the black is our ground, the red is our power, and then white's going to be our control switch. So you can see there it's a very bright light. I'm just going to go through some of the different patterns. I'll go ahead and cycle through all of them. And again, the manual that's included with this gives you a lot of detailed information on this unit and it's also going to give you a lot of detailed information on the different flash patterns. So there's a lot of patterns there to choose from. That's going to do it for today's look at the Custer 10-Watt White LED Strobe Light.
One year in service and still as good as day one. Very bright and effective, I use on my bicycle for a rear and really makes cars move away or over a lane. I bought the white one for my day time flash on front and it’s better than any bicycle light out there. I use a 3 cell 2500mah lithium polymer battery to power and lasts weeks before needing a recharge.
