Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

Jake: Hey, guys. It's Jake here, at eTrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at, and show you how to use, the CargoSmart retractable ratchet strap for E-Track or X-Track. With these straps, you're going to be able to tie down any load by using your E-Track or X-Track. It's going to take away the headache and tassel of having to mess with any of the excess strap. It's all going to spool back up on, right here. One of the biggest struggles that I have, when strapping something down, is when you have those standard S-hooks that you're trying to hook something on one side of the trailer, then you have to run around to the other side of the trailer, and try to keep those S-hooks hooked in place.
That's when these E-Track or X-Track brackets are going to come in handy. Once you lock those in, they're going to be held tight until you get to the other side to ratchet it down.My favorite thing about these straps is that you're never going to have to go through your toolbox, or through your truck, to find both sides of a ratcheting strap. Either you're looking for the ratcheting part or you're looking for the strap part to be able to tie something down. When this strap is fully closed, it's going to never get tangled with any other straps. It's going to always be in this single unit, so when you need a strap to tie something down, you can reach in your bag.
If you have a lot of these straps, you just grab this and you're ready to go. You have both sides.Just to show you a little bit more about how this strap works. When it's in the locked position, like it is now, you're not going to be able to pull that strap out. You have to release it with this little trigger here, pull it all the way open until it stops, and now you can see that your strap is retractable and you can pull it out to whatever desired length.Let's go ahead and get our ladder strapped down. You just hook that into your E-Track or X-Track, pull it out to your desired length, clip that side in, and, as you can see, it has taken all the slack out.
You pull that same release trigger there, and you can start cranking it down. Now, when you get to where you're going, and you need to release your load, you pull on that same trigger there. Open it all the way, and you can hear it release, just like that. Now, the ratcheting portion of this system is going to have a fairly large handle on it, so you have enough to grip to be able to ratchet down whatever you might be hauling. This release trigger too, also is big enough to fit a couple of fingers in, or a thumb, to be able to release and operate it with comfort. The coating is also going to be a zinc-plated coating to be able to protect it from that rust and corrosion.
Everything on your mechanics is going to be underneath this plastic cap to keep everything nice and tidy in there. These straps are going to have a 500 pound workload capacity and a 1500 pound break strength. So, when used in a pair to that load, as you're strapping down, is going to be evenly distributed between the two straps, so just keep that in mind. Your strap is going to be one inch in diameter, and it's going to have the same feel that most light to medium duty straps have. It's going to be a nice safety orange color, so when traveling on the road, others are going to know that your load is safe and secure on your trailer. With these straps, they're easy to get in place. All you have to do is just pull back on this release here, open it wide open, and you can then pull it, and it will retract back in, so any excess that you don't need, will go back onto the spool. With this E-Track system, you just pull back on that clip, put it into place, and now you're ready to stretch out the rest of your strap. Run it to wherever you normally would and clip it into place. The nice thing I like about it is that you're not going to have to fumble around with any of that extra strap. You'll pull on that same release, tighten it down. Now, these straps do come in a pair of two, so we always recommend using two straps when tying down a load. We'll go ahead and get that front strap in place and then you're ready to roll.Keep in mind, these straps are only six feet in length, so depending on the configuration of your E-Track or X-Track, and the distance between those, and where you're tying down, from the floor of our trailer to our tie down point, here, is about 27 inches, so that gives you a rough idea of how far you can strap something down. We are at about the end of our spool, here, so you find yourself needing a longer, or more heavier, duty option we do have those available here, at etrailer.com, for E-Track and X-Track.

I was really surprised my order arrived so quickly.I ordered late Thursday night and received it Saturday from three states away.
Great Srrvice
My only suggestion is to advise the person who's ordering the e-track about the e-track mounting brackets.
Purchased twice and unfortunately have been disappointed both times. I use these for my riding mower & none of them have lasted longer than one mowing season. I really like the concept of them but they are not a very good quality. If you use them very sparingly they may last a few years but that about as long as they’ll last.
They do the job but expect to be replacing them every year if used often. I use them on the weekends for my side business to strap my mowers through the summer. Though they will hold, they wear quickly due to the soft metals used. The ratchets get jammed making it very hard to loosen the straps if it’s holding something down. I’ll have to see if there’s a heavier duty version somewhere.
These straps ( tie-downs) are awesome. Because I am in a wheelchair, I don’t like to be messing with the extra strap. I have to work with one hand most of time. These make it so much easier for me to tie down my wheelchair. Great product and great price. Well worth the buy.
Excellent set of straps and saves me time as I don't have to mess around with setting up a regular strap. Only thing is they're pricey.
As usual etrailer never ceases to amaze Me! ordered one day, here the next, plus all quality product.
