Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Product arrived sooner than expected, installed exactly as indicated in the directions, and works perfectly.

Very easy to install. My 12 year old son acually installed the wiring package. On line video was also very informative.

Ordered new hitch for my Ford Flex, it came in 4 days and was easy to install took less than one hour including the harness.

Thank you for the great service.

2011 Ford Flex

This product is well made. The fit was excellent. The only change I would make is in the wire ties that were included to attach the wiring to car. There's really no way to use them. Would have been better to supply some kind of clip to hold wire and clip to bottom of flange along back of car. Otherwise I would recommend this product.

by:
2011 Ford Flex

I professionally installed this trailer wire on my Ford Flex 2011. It corrupted my wiring system in 2 weeks. It made my running lights on my Flex to not work at all. Secondly, this product is after market which voids your warranty. The only wiring that the Flex can handle is from the front fuse box. I learned the hard way and had to have this wiring removed from my Flex which cost me an additional $68 dollars. I strongly suggest not using this product and have Ford install your trailor light wiring since it will not void your warranty.

I could not be more pleased with your company. I could have bought the wiring harness from several vendors, but you guys stepped up and did the job. The harness was for my daughters Flex and she is delighted. We try to keep a smallloopof vendors here and you can be assured, you are in the loop.

by:
2011 Ford Flex

Product arrived quickly, installed just as the instructions stated. Looks good. It would be nice if the hitch had a bracket for the wiring harness to attach to. So far no complaints at all.

by:
Ford Flex

Used this while installing the factory hitch on my Flex. Simple to install, instructions were clear and easy to understand. This wiring tees into the wiring for the taillights. This solution is plug and play- no soldering, etc., required.

by:

Easy to install if you have basic knowledge of vehicle components and Removal of taillights

by:

This wiring harness make the job very easy. Take out the light housing, plug them into the plug and put the light housing back in.

by:

All items came rather quicker than I expected, well packaged. It's hard to damage the steel trailer hitch of this size. NO problems were encountered on the installation.

by:
2019 Ford Flex

Very satisfied with the finished product! Having said that I’m extremely disappointed in the condition of the box it arrived in and scratches in the paint. The wiring harness was apparently in a box at one time but when I opened the big box the harness and instructions were laying loose in the bottom of the box and I’m lucky to have recoverd all the parts as there was a 6”x4” hole in one corner of the box. The hardware bag also had a hole in it and washers fell out when I touched the bag. So yes 5 stars for the product but 0 stars for packaging and shipping.

2012 Ford Flex

Photos of our T-one wiring harness install this afternoon on our 2012 Ford Flex. Should be comprehensive, but I have a few other photos.

I ziptied to the factory harness where I could, and had to clip the last one of your zipties to get enough slack. Ground wire unzipped a little. Drilled & Dremel'd off the finish, then used "Noalox" between the ring terminal & body, then sealed with caulk. I will add some split-loom later where the trailer plug wiring goes into the backside of the tow bumper. I added electrical tape to the green wire (not shown in photos), and any other place I thought might rub. 4-pin connector just wedged into the factory slot.

by:

Great product for the job it intended for! I highly appreciate it! Thanks

by:
2011 Ford Flex

The easiest wire kit to install. Had my 7 year son hook it up for me.
Thanks again. Will order next hitch and wire harness, will tell friends and family about them.

by:

Installation was straight forward and not overly complicated. The hitch itself is very beefy indeed. The plug-n-play wiring for the lights was very simple as well

by:
2016 Ford Flex

Overall good product, work as intended. Only thing I would change is the ground eyelet. Im not drilling into tge body of my car for a rust area later in it's life. I added a larger eyelet and put the ground on the hitch mount bolt.

by:

Installation could only have been easier if someone else did it. Instructions were easy to understand and kit had everything needed.

  • What Wiring Harness do I Need for My 2015 Ford Flex with Factory Tow Package?
Hello Brandon, I am sorry to hear that the person before you screwed up the wiring, very frustrating. Since your 2015 Ford Flex has the factory tow package you are going to want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55384, this is going to give you a 4 flat on the vehicle. For a 7 way and 4 flat you will want Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connectors # C55774. Do you...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ford Flex with Dual Exhaust
Hey Gustavo, we have the etrailer hitch part # e52AR that is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Ford Flex with dual exhaust. This would be a really great option for carrying a bike rack or towing a trailer. For trailer wiring you'd then want the Tekonsha part # 118472 which installs easily. Both of these do not require modifications to the vehicle. Do you have a bike rack already?

  • 4-Way Wiring Harness for 2015 Ford Flex
Hey Brandon! You can use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118472 on your Ford Flex. If Tekonsha thought a converter was necessary they would have added it to this wiring harness like they have on many others. The converter pulls power from the vehicle battery to keep the power draw off of your tail light circuits. If you would rather have the extra protection and don't mind running the wire to your battery you can certainly use the Curt # C56343. Both will work even though you have...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Ford Flex SEL without Ecoboost
For a 2012 Ford Flex without Ecoboost the correct Curt hitch is # 1355 or the etrailer hitch # e95KR. These hitches are very similar and either would be a great choice. The most popular choice is the Curt # 13551. I would recommend going with the one that costs the least. Curt hitch # C13110 that you referenced is designed to fit the following models: 2009 - 2018 Ford Flex with Dual Exhaust 2010 - 2017 Lincoln MKT with EcoBoost If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer...

For your 2013 Ford Flex with dual exhaust the Draw Tite hitch part # 75679 is a confirmed fit and has a 2 inch opening like what you need. It has a 4,000 lb towing capacity which is the highest towing capacity option we have. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well. For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118472 which is also a confirmed fit. If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with...

The Reese Towpower 8508211 is like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 90885 that we offer. For a 2019 Ford Flex with the factory tow package, you'd want to use the # 22292 brake controller wiring harness which would plug into the connector clipped to the back of the storage pocket located just to the right of the steering column as shown in the provided photo. The connector will only be there if the vehicle is equipped with the factory tow...

The trailer hitch that I recommend using to tow a small trailer with your 2019 Ford Flex is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75679 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. Then for wiring I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118472 because it has the highest amp draw rating out of the available options. This means that if you end up towing a trailer with a fair amount of lights on it you won't overdraw this wiring harness. If you would like to mount this near the receiver then you can use the mounting...

I suggest a weight distribution system that has sway control. To choose the correct system you'll need the tongue weight of your loaded and ready to tow trailer added to the amount of gear in the Ford Flex behind its rear axle. A trailer's tongue weight should fall within about 10 to 15 percent of its total weight. The best way to determine your trailer's tongue weight is to use a scale # e99044. Hello, yes will be glad to provide you with options for a complete solution to using your 2018 Ford Flex for towing a 2019 Coachmen Clipper 17RD. For a trailer hitch, I definitely would go with the Class III etrailer trailer Hitch Receiver, # e52AR if you have dual exhaust and the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e95KR without dual exhaust. These are rated for use with a Weight Distribution System (WDS) which I advise using. These hitches...

  • Towing Capacity and Trailer Hitch Recommendation 2010 Ford Flex for Towing 2,000 lb Boat Trailer
I looked up the towing capacity of your 2010 Ford Flex and it has a capacity of 4,500 lbs total trailer weight which means you'd pretty easily be able to tow a 2,000 lb boat and trailer. You'll need a few things to do this safely. First is a hitch like the Draw Tite part # 75679 that you referenced. There are trailer hitches available for the 2013 Ford Flex with dual exhaust but they are not rated for 5,000 lbs. The trailer hitches for the Ford Flex with dual exhaust are both rated for 4,000 lbs. The hitches are designed to fit around the dual exhaust system which could be why their rating is a bit lower.
