Will the Tekonsha 118272 Wiring Harness Fit a 2014 Ford Flex

Question:

I have a 2014 Ford Flex. It is essentially the same vehicle as the Ford Explorer as far as parts go. I have taken off the bumper trim and have noticed the exact same plug that will fit the plug shown in the picture. Why is it EXACTLY that makes this not a fit for the Ford Flex? If all wires pass threw and the wire colors are a little different that is fine, I can test out the wires.

The Tekonsha # 118272 was developed specifically for a 2011 to 2019 Ford Explorer so I cannot recommend it for your 2014 Flex. Sometimes the plugs will be the same on multiple vehicles, but from there, the wires can go just about anywhere. I couldn't confirm any of this with Tekonsha, but again, with this being designed for just the Explorer it will most likely not work on your Flex.

Typically the Ford Flex also came with a round plug for the 7 Way, like the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connectors # C55774, but this will only fit vehicles that came pre-equipped with a 7 Way plug from Ford.

If your Flex did not come with a 7 Way from Ford, I recommend going with the Tekonsha # 118472 and then our # ETBC7 to upgrade it to a 7 Way.
