Wiring a trailer can seem like a hassle, but this CURT T-Connector makes it simple. It plugs directly into your vehicle’s existing wiring, so there’s no cutting or splicing needed. The connectors match the factory plugs, giving you a clean install that looks and works like it came that way from the start.
Once installed, the harness stays out of sight thanks to its hidden, plug-in setup. The 4-flat trailer connector tucks neatly away when not in use, helping keep things looking tidy and protected from dirt or damage.
The built-in powered converter keeps the vehicle’s wiring safe while delivering steady power to your trailer lights. It ensures your running, brake, and turn signals work without overloading the vehicle’s circuits—important when towing or using LED trailer lights.
The 4-pole flat connector gives you the basics every small or mid-size trailer needs: running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. It’s the standard connection you’ll find on most trailers, making it easy to hook up and go.
Some vehicles don’t come prewired for towing, but that’s not a problem here. This harness is designed for models without a factory tow package, so you can still get full trailer lighting without extra parts or complicated modifications.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. Now, this wiring harness has been designed to fit your 2021 and newer Acura TLX. And on custom fit parts such as this wiring harness, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Just input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So this harness is going to give you that 4-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights.
This will also be compatible with 5, 6, and 7-pole adapters. Of course, those adapters are sold separately. If you noticed, this does include a dust cap for the 4-pole flat connector. That dust cap is going to cover up those connection points when this plug is not in use. This does feature this black box on this harness.
It's a powered taillight converter. This is going to make sure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer. This is going to connect directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading its electrical system, reducing strain on your vehicle's wiring system. By the way, Curt builds each of these converters using surface-mount technology for consistent, reliable performance. This is going to maximize trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, ensuring superior operation even in rough road conditions.
Now, this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily. These custom fit T-connectors are gonna plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in the trunk behind the taillight housing. You will probably have to remove the threshold and pull back the interior felt liner to access that harness. But once you've plugged in these T-connectors, you're going to then take this hot lead right here, this black wire, and then you're going to connect this ring terminal on this black wire to the positive post of your vehicle's battery. This does have an inline 10 amp fuse that you can see right here with a cap that's going to keep that fuse protected.
So as you can see, this inline fuse is going to protect the electrical system of your vehicle. So once you have the T-connectors plugged in, you will then need to make a good ground connection. That's going to be this white wire here with a ring terminal attached to it. It does come with a self-tapping screw, so you can get that mounted to a suitable location, such as the vehicle's frame or crossmember. You just wanna make sure that the surface is clean and rust-free. Next, you will need to mount this converter box to a safe, out-of-the-way location. You can do that with another mounting screw that you might have on hand, and run that through the top there. Or you could use maybe one of the cable ties that's included with this kit or the double-sided adhesive tape that's also included with this kit. You're gonna be able to secure any slack in your wiring, again, with the cable ties that's included with this kit. And then once installation is complete, the 4-way connector can be stowed in an out-of-the-way location, such as your cargo area. Instructions are included to guide you through the installation process. And it is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, like the plugs on your vehicle and the 4-pole flat connector itself. That grease is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. So on your screen, I am including our part number for that grease. You can just take that part number, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to that grease, and you can add that to your order. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
