Features to know about

Stable Handling on Long Trips: Frame-Mounted Security

These tie-downs bolt directly to the truck’s frame, which is the strongest part of the vehicle. By anchoring at the frame instead of the bed or bumper, they hold the camper lower and more solid, reducing sway and keeping handling predictable on long-distance drives. The weight spreads evenly across the bed, lowering the center of gravity so crosswinds and rough roads don’t push the camper around. That means a steadier, more comfortable ride mile after mile.

Install Without Drilling: Custom-Fit Design

Each set is built for a custom fit using pre-existing holes in your truck’s frame. That means little to no drilling and no cutting or permanent modification. The brackets mount tight to the frame with minimal loss of ground clearance, giving you a clean setup that doesn’t hang down or snag when driving off-road or over uneven ground.

Keep Your Truck Looking Clean: Low-Profile Mounts

When you’re not hauling a camper, you can remove the arms and the brackets are almost invisible beneath the vehicle. The design tucks neatly under the body, so your truck keeps its clean appearance year-round without bulky gear hanging below.

Built Tough: Powder-Coated Steel Construction

Made from durable steel with a high-impact powder coat finish, these tie-downs are built to handle weather, road grime, and vibration from heavy loads. The coating adds an extra layer of protection so rust and corrosion don’t shorten their life, even after years of use.

Easy Camper Hookup: Adjustable Arm Length

Each arm includes two pin holes so you can choose how far it extends from the body for turnbuckle clearance. That lets you line up anchors at the right angle to keep your camper held tight without rubbing against your truck. Use a rubber mat under your camper for best grip and to eliminate sliding or bounce while driving.

Video Transcript for Setting up the TorkLift Tie Downs on a 2021 Ford F-450 Super Duty

Hello everybody, Clayton here at etrailer.com. Here at etrailer.com we install, test, and review a lot of different products, to help you as the customer, make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today we're going to be working on a 2021 Ford F-450. We're going to be taking a look at, I'll be showing you how to install Torklift's rear-mounted camper tie downs. Our rear camper tie downs are going to be custom fit to work with the SuperHitch. Whether that be the SuperHitch Hero, Original, or Magnum.

Now, having our camper tie downs is going to be essential when we're using an in-bed camper. Now you do want to keep in mind this does have to be paired with front tie downs. And you can find ones that work for your F-450 here at etrailer.com. Our camper tie downs are going to allow us to securely tighten down our camper. That way there's no movement in our bed.

Now our camper tie down bracket mounts right to our SuperHitch, and then extends out here to our arm. One cool feature is there is two different settings. So all we have to do is remove our pin, kind of slide our arm out, and then reinstall our pin. So no matter where your camper falls, in relation to the body of your truck, you can make sure it's tightened down securely. Our camper tie downs are going to be constructed out of steel.

So they're going to hold up really good for a long time. You're not going to have to worry about them bending or breaking on you. They really have a nice black powder coat finish on them, as well. And it's just going to help resist rust and corrosion. So it's going to look nice and work well, since it's constructed out of steel.

And personally my favorite feature, is going to be, whenever we're not using our camper, we can simply remove our pin and slide this out. Now what we're going to see is this tube, so we're not going to have to worry about anything hanging off the back, and it's going to stay nice and tight up to our hitch and our bumper. And then just to get you some measurements to help you understand where the tie downs are going to sit on your truck. Our measurement from the ground to the bottom of our camper tie down is going to be about twenty and a half inches. You just want to keep that number in mind for ground clearance. And then in our closer setting here, we are going to be looking at about six and half inches, between our bumper and our camper tie down. And in our outward setting, we're going to be looking at a bout 10 and a half inches from the bumper to the outside of the camper tie down. So not only our camper tie downs going to look nice on the back of our truck, they're also going to install pretty easily. What we're going to be doing, is removing a couple bolts from our hitch, sliding it in, and re-bolting it back up. It's definitely a no-drill application. With that being said, I'll go ahead and walk you through how to get it installed now. To start our installation you want to make sure that you have your SuperHitch installed. And in this case we do. We're just going to be removing these two front bolts here. We're going to use a 19 millimeter socket. Now we just want to grab our new hardware. I'm just going to slide that threw the holes in our hitch and through our side plates. Just like so. And I'm going to grab our bracket. We're just going to slide it into the hole in our hitch, with this bracket, or this tab I should say, facing towards the front. Just going to slide in pretty easily like this. Just want to push that onto our hardware. We can now reinstall our split lock washer and our hex nut. Now we just want to come back on the 19 millimeter socket, and snug them down. Now we want to come back and torque them down to the amount specified in our instructions. We can now repeat this same process on the driver side. We now want to grab our tie down arm and just slide that into our main bracket and then add our retaining pin. With everything tightened and torqued down, we're now ready to load up our camper and hit the road. That's going to do it for our look at and the installation of the rear Torklift camper tie downs on our 2021 Ford F-450..

My order arrived quickly and it appears to be good quality. The installation instructions are easy to follow.

by:

Installation was fairly simple, instructions were good and I had everything I needed.

by:

Installation took me about 45 minutes. The directions are not good, but enough to get them installed without much trouble.
The tie down work great on my 2024 F350 SRW Tremor.

To start, e-trailer has always been good to me and I have purchased from them many times. This product is well built and for that they would get high marks. The packaging was terrible! Heavy metal parts not adequately wrapped, thus one of arms punctured through the box. The plastic bag inside holding all parts is not adequately sealed (just a pinch seal like a ziplock bag) thus it opened up spilling contents all through the inside of box. When I went to pick it up from delivery, contents were spilling out all over. I photographed and notified e-trailer. I’d suggest better packaging and use box tape to seal the hardware bag.

by:

Worked great. Install was not bad. I particularly liked the fact I did not have to drill any holes.

by:

Great product! Fits perfect to the frame and very good quality materials. Even fit perfectly with my rock sliders.

by:

The rear Tie Downs were very easy to install the front ones was extremely nice not to have to do any drilling. With the extensions off and not using the camper You can't hardly tell they're installed and no clearance is lost!!

by:

Fairly easy installation. Good instructions, but it helps to watch one of the YouTube videos first. With just the receivers, you can hardly even see them, they’re tucked underneath so well. Very sturdy. I feel very confident that no matter what, these babies will hold. They’re pricy, but well worth it.

I did a lot of research to find the right kind of frame mounts for my dads truck. Lots of local RV places didn't even know what I was looking for, or quoted me for the wrong parts. After I was certain I found the right tie downs, I contacted etrailer customer service chat representative and they were a great help at confirming the parts I found would in fact fit my dads truck. My husband and dad installed them in less than 2 hours. The parts came quickly and in excellent packaging/condition.

by:

Great experience. The man that took the order was very familiar with the Torklift Tie Downs and was able to answer all my questions.

by:

I installed these on a 2019 F250 Super Duty. The most challenging step was loosening the leaf spring nuts. Once that was done, the install was a piece of cake. Tehran not in use, they are not very noticeable. They are very sturdy and hold the camper securely. Although the entire system (w/fast guns) is a bit pricey, they are well worth it!

by:

Product arrived quickly and install was simple with supplied parts, instructions and tools.

by:

With the exception of removing the emergency brake lines. I could have done this job of mounting the front and rear mounts in under two hours, instead of three. Excellent design and looks great!

by:

Order the kit. This is the second set I have ordered in the last few months. etrailer ships fast and makes sure you can track your shipments. Also notifies you every step of the way. I appreciate the follow through with keeping me informed at when my package will arrive. I tried to buy these direct from the manufacture but they wanted more than etrailer and I had to find back and front sets. They did not sell them in kits.

Also glad the etrailer doesn't play the game of shipping in the lower 48 states only BS, there are 50 official states ins the USA (51 if your counting Alberta)! Plus numerous US territories...

Second set of Torklift camper tiedown brackets I have purchased. 1999 Dodge 2500 and 2016 Ram 3500. Fit good. No drilling. I would buy again. Good product. (I am a certified ASME, AWS, API, welder and fabricator). No hype, just fact.

by:

I would say that the Torklift kit fit my 2024 GMC sierra pro crew cab perfectly the shipping to Canada took 5 days which I thought was fast delivery and it shipped the same day it was ordered

by:

Ordered for 2025 GMC 3500HD to carry our Arctic Fox slide in camper. Kits were shipped right away and arrived in Anchorage in 5 days (as ordered). The tie downs are excellent quality, all hardware arrived with the kit, instructions were "OK", installation on rear tie downs a little tricky, but managed to do ourselves. Looking forward to some great camping adventures. Thanks for the GREAT service!

by:

We had a hiccup with my order and it was lost in cyberspace for a day until I called and was able to get it going. Unfortunately, I needed them by Saturday and I ordered them Wednesday. They didn't ship until Thursday afternoon and didn't arrive until Monday. The seller of the camper was kind enough to hold the camper for me, but it was touch and go there for a while.
Installing them was a challenging because the pictures in the guide were difficult to see which slowed the installation down a little. It took 2 of us about 3 hours to install them. Now that they are on the truck with the camper they seem to be working great! The only problem remaining is the front tie downs use a bolt to hold the tie down to the frame and it obstructs the passage, so it will only advance as far as the first pin making the second hole unreachable (it sticks out from the truck a few extra inches and makes the extension wobble up and down until the turnbuckle was installed).

by:

great fit, works great, strong parts, works perfect! etrailer was excellent in making sure I received the correct parts. I highly recommend etrailer, if in doubt, call them, don't try and wing it, they will set you up with the correct parts! I will use etrailer again!

by:

These things are heavy duty. Straightforward installation, just follow the instructions and videos. Fit like a glove and are rock solid. Thanks etrailer for fast shipping and Torklift for great products.

by:

Absolutely the only way to correctly attach your truck camper. Pair these white Fastguns and it’s a great combo. I just went on a 5000 mile trip with my TC and never moved an inch.

by:

They seem stout and were easy enough to install. I added my own 2” square rubber caps to the ends to keep road debris out when they’re not in use, those should be included. For $850 the packaging could use some work. They arrived all banged up, the “high impact powder coat” is worn off in several areas leaving bare steel exposed.

by:

I ordered this kit for my 2018 Ford F150 'Heavy Half' regular cab, long bed pickup. The tie downs came with all the necessary hardware, good instructions, were easy to install with basic tools, and required no drilling. Shipping was very fast. I would absolutely recommend TorkLift tie downs and etrailer.com.

by:

This is the only way the tie downs fit is this a safe way to strap it down

by:

After selling previous truck camper and getting a new truck these tie downs are outstanding. The direct fit for year make model is awesome. Takes the guess work out installation. The install instructions were really good as well as etrailers videos. etrailer is the great providing product install walk thru. The adjustability of these tie downs made my life easier when I picked up my new TLRV 8 foot truck camper.

  • What Might Cause Truck Bed Camper to Porpoise
Hey Guy, I wouldn't assume the foam is causing the porpoising. I'd assume it's the tie downs not being quite tight enough which is allowing the movement. Your best solution would be frame mounted tie downs like the Torklift part # TL53VV as they are just a lot more secure and get tighter.
