Features to know about

Install Without Drilling: Custom-Fit Frame Mounts

These front tie-downs bolt directly to your truck’s frame using existing holes, so you don’t have to drill or modify anything. Because the brackets mount tight to the frame, you keep nearly all of your ground clearance. That makes them easier to live with whether the camper’s on or off. When the removable arms are taken out, the mounts sit tucked up and are hardly noticeable.

Safe and Stable Handling: Frame-Mounted Tie-Downs

These tie-downs secure your camper to the most solid part of your truck—the frame—so the weight is evenly distributed and the center of gravity stays low. That means a smoother, more stable ride with less sway or shifting, even in crosswinds or rough conditions. The design helps avoid that top-heavy feel that can come from bed-mounted systems, keeping your setup steady mile after mile.

Lightweight Strength: Aluminum and Stainless Steel Build

The TorkLift Talon tie-downs combine heavy-duty performance with lightweight handling. The arms are built from rustproof aluminum alloy and the receiver brackets are stainless steel, giving you strength that holds up to harsh climates without adding excess weight. A high-impact powder coat finish adds another layer of protection against wear and corrosion so they’ll stay solid for years.

Quick Adjustments: Two Anchor Points for a Secure Hold

Each arm has two pin holes so you can extend it just far enough to clear sidewalls or fenders and get the best turnbuckle angle for a firm connection. The dual anchor holes let you fine-tune how your camper sits, keeping it from shifting or pulling unevenly when you’re on the move. Once the turnbuckles are tightened to the right tension, the setup stays locked in and stable.

Clean Look When Not in Use: Removable Arms

When it’s time to drive without the camper, just pull out the aluminum arms and leave the compact brackets in place. They sit nearly flush under the body so your truck keeps a clean look without bulky hardware hanging down. It’s a simple design that works hard when you need it and disappears when you don’t.

Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the TorkLift Talon Camper Tie-Downs

Hello neighbors. Welcome back, I'm Steven. Today we're looking at this Torklift Talon Camper Tie Down. It's a custom frame mount application and it is made of aluminum and stainless steel for the front of your Ford Super Duty trucks. So like I just mentioned, this does fit a 2023 two current Ford Super Duty trucks. With that in mind, make sure you're checking out our custom fit guide on etrailer.com's website.

At the center of the top of the page, you can enter your year, make, and model and be sure you're getting the right part the first time. Now these will create an attachment point for securing your camper to the truck bed and they will pair with a set of rear tie downs. The rear tie downs are sold separately, as well as required turn buckles to then attach the camper to these tie downs. The turn buckles are sold separately as well. Now these will help ensure excellent handling by distributing the weight evenly and lowering the center of gravity on the vehicle setup with the camper.

It's gonna help avoid a top heavy setup that would be vulnerable to, like, strong wind, sway. And whenever you're not using 'em, they're gonna remain virtually invisible beneath the vehicle. And you do that by simply taking out the arm pin and then you can simply pull out the arm. Now this arm does have two options, two holes there. Both of these arms are aluminum, so very lightweight, very robust.

You don't have to worry about 'em corroding or getting, you know, moisture and rust and all that over time. Again, you can set it for the closest or farthest away point and then simply put your pin back in to hold it in place whenever you're doing that. And when you're not using it, you can take these custom rubber caps and put that over that hole to keep stuff out of there as well. Now it does go with a whole lot of hardware. I went ahead and left in the bag for this video.

There's just too many different things here to lay out and have space, but you got all kinds of blocks, different spacers, bolts, loft washers, regular washers, nuts, that kind of stuff. You even get these nice fish wires for fishing the bolts through the holes of the truck frame. So again, a very simple design as far as install. You should not have to drill too much, maybe a couple holes, 'cause it's gonna use preexisting holes in your frame already. It is made in the USA, has an amazing lifetime warranty, and as I said, the brackets themselves are stainless steel powder-coated and the fronts are aluminum powder-coated. So this back part here, let me pull one up real quick. This is what's gonna mount against the frame of your truck in the front. So that kind of gives you an idea of what that setup looks like. And I'll put that guy back down here. Now again, you can remove the arms when you're not using 'em and they extend out like I mentioned. And again, they do have a nice finish on 'em. Everything looks really good here from what I've seen. I don't think you're gonna have to worry about rust, that kind of stuff. They do mount pretty tight to your vehicle frame. That way, you have minimal loss of ground clearance, and as I said, you shouldn't have to drill that many holes. You know, a couple maybe to get these installed. So pretty simple install, pretty quick install. You will get a set of instructions included as well. That's always fun to read, right But honestly, read 'em. Make sure you get it put on the first time the right way. We also have videos on our website etrailer.com that you can watch as well far as mounting these on the truck as well. Well, I hope this video has helped you. Hope all the information here has answered any questions you might have had. I'm Steve with etrailer.com. Stay safe out there towing.

I just finished installing the front tie-downs and am really happy with the results. Although the instructions directed me to remove one e-cable bracket, I removed both e-cable brackets on the driver's side to get enough slack to slide the bracket behind the e-cable. See the pictures. Instructions were easy to follow. Many thanks to big A for the extra hands, impact tool and torque wrench!

Easiest installation available. These fit perfect and attach just as instructed. The only issue you may have to watch is that on some truck frames, mine being one of them, Ford covers one of the holes with a black sticker that states, "No Mounting Bracket". In my case, the writing on this sticker was covered by a film of road grime and I had problems even finding the hole to dry fit the bracket until I cleaned off the frame with solvent. The actually TorkLift kit fits the frame perfectly though. The passenger rear bracket is very close to the exhaust pipe so when diesel particulate filter regeneration cycle begins, it will melt the label off the bracket but does not appear the even burn the paint on it so should still be OK, just be aware when unhooking the tie down from the bracket as it could be very hot.

I purchased the Torklift Talon front and rear TC tie downs and love the fact they are lightweight but yet very strong. Being aluminum powder coated is great being in a salt air environment so no rusting like the steel versions do.

by:

I ordered Camper tie-downs for my new Ram 2500. I erroneously ordered TDL2126A for the front. They wouldn't clear the nurfs. A quick call confirmed that I would need the TDL2127A. I had to pay for the 27As up front and hope when I returned the 26As on an rmer I would receive prompt refunds. Imagine my surprise when they notified me that they received my return and the refund was on its way. These guys are super, especially Brenden C.
ps the Aluminum tie downs are great and the happy jacks awesome!

by:

It's a little tricky feeding the bolts through the frame (almost lost one, but a little tape on the bolt/spring helped), but a great product otherwise. The mounting scheme for my Chevy 2500 HD is strong and ingeniously designed. No drilling or welding. The aluminum won't rust like other tie-downs mounted to the frame. It was well worth the extra money to get the aluminum version of this product.

by:

Excellent product. Good customer service. I will always use tork lift products from now on.
etrailer is an excellent vendor as well.
I upgraded from happy jack camper tie downs. I like the aluminum talon tork lifts for their easy installation, zero corrosion liability, and unimposing appearance when not in use.

About a year ago, I purchased the aluminum Talon Torklift Frame-Mounted Front and Rear Camper Tie-Downs. The install was easy taking the better part of a day including a little help from a local automotive mechanic to loosen and retorque the truck’s leaf spring bolts. The Tie-Downs have worked great since installed with no issues. I highly recommend them.

by:

I purchased front & rear TorkLift Frame mounts. Thay worked great and safer than bed mounts.

by:

Torklift frame mounted tie downs are a great product. The rear ones are easy to install. The front require a bit more skill and an extra set of hands. It’s a bit nerve wracking thinking you might loose the bolts into the frame! I upgraded my truck from an F150 to an F250. Because the brackets aren’t transferable, I had to get a new set and install them on my F250. I was glad I had the experience with the previous brackets on the F150 because the ones for the F250 are a bit heavier and more challenging to install. But I was able to do it with an extra set of hands to hold the brackets on to the frame. The fact that I went with the same Torklift system is a testament to the product. If you can afford aluminum, they’re beautiful and light. But once everything is in place, there’s no functional difference.
etrailer has great installation videos for the F150, but not the F250. I wish they had install videos for the F250 because it’s a bit more challenging, requiring an impact driver to loosen the nut on the driver side leaf spring.

by:

The tie-downs were a bit difficult to install for a novice but if you follow instructions closely they did install as outlined in the instructions. They are lightweight and have held my camper in place very well. I am happy with this purchase.

by:

I bought the Torklift camper tie downs for my new 2017 Ram 3500 dually. I haul a Lance 850 slide in truck camper. They came today and I installed them in about 4 hours. (I work slow) I bought the Aluminum ones so I don't have to worry about any rust. They look great and like the Torklift that was on my old truck I am sure they will give me great service.

by:

This is my second set of Torklift tie downs. Like the first, these are excellent. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the annoying quality control in the packaging. My front tie downs came with only 1 bolt fisher, not the required 3! I was able to complete the install using the bolt fisher from the set of rear tie downs. I was able to install the C bolt without the fisher. One of the lock washers was the wrong size...not a big problem for a shop install but I had to make a trip to the local hardware store before I could finish the project. Lastly I had to cut off the passenger side bed bolt in order to get a socket on the B bolt to torque it down....again, not a problem for a shop install but irritating for this 70+ guy on his back in the driveway! *Aside from all this..I love the product!

by:

The rear mounts were easy to mount. The only problem the package was missing 4 flat washers. I also just received the Front mounts. They were a little harder to mount by myself. Some advice is to watch the install on [video]. I ended up using a floor Jack to hold the mounts.

by:

After installing them we put our newly purchased truck camper on the truck and took a trip from New York to Louisianna. They did their job perfectly! They held up with ease and nothing was bent as they are aluminum. The installation instructions seemed okay, everything came together.

by:

No worries about securing the camper to the truck using the Torklift tie-downs. Third camper/truck I have used these on and would not consider any other option.

by:

Excellent product and excellent service from ETRAILER! Held up well after one year, will hold up in long run as well. Fit and finish of product is outstanding. Durable coatings, and well worth the extra money for these!

by:

Hooray for stainless and aluminum! So much better than the carbon steel ones that were constantly shedding rust. I have so much better confidence in these tie downs over the originals

by:

Ordered both front and back set for my 2023 F250. All good except one of the bolt holes for the front drive side is missing. Called etrailer. Option 1 - return (we'll see). Option 2 call torklift. Called torklift and left a message - we'll see what the response is. Viewing etrailer website, this is the proper fit. Viewing torklift website "There are no fits available". Photo included.

by:

There was a miss match with the first set I received (wrong part number) when the correct kit was received, TorkLift had packed the wrong extensions in the box. After TorkLift shipped the correct extensions everything went together correctly and worked as expected.
