Already have a hitch or bumper-mounted cargo carrier? Then you probably know that the extra space is great, but it's not exactly secure. This cage enclosure bolts on to the setup you already have, giving you secure, lockable storage for your gear. Load it, lock it, and hit the road with one less thing on your mind.


Easy to Load, Flexible to Pack


Product Detail

The wide front doors swing open so you can load your stuff straight in with no awkward lifting or tilting. Pack it full and skip the tie-downs, or use the built-in horizontal and vertical bars to anchor lighter loads with straps (sold separately). However you pack it, your gear stays put for the drive.

Optional Extras to Complete the Setup

Depending on how your gear is packed, this cage might block your taillights. That's not a problem. The frame is pre-drilled to accept the etrailer light kit (e67RV, sold separately), keeping you road-ready and street legal. You can also pair it with the etrailer Cargo Cover (e43RV, sold separately) to shield your gear from rain, dirt, and prying eyes. Together, the cage, lights, and cover turn your carrier into a secure, all-season hauler.

    Hi Bob; the inside dimensions of the # e82FV are going to match up to the cargo carrier you install it on. Since this is designed for 24" x 60" cargo carriers that will be the inside width and depth once it is tightened down on the carrier. The height of the cage is 25" but your overall inside height will vary depending on the cargo carrier it is attached to. For example, the RV bumper mounted # e34VV has a carrier that is 3" tall on the inside while the hitch mounted # C63ZJ is on a 5-1/5"...

    Hey Scotty, The etrailer Cargo Carrier Cage does only come in a 24" x 60" # e82FV or 24" x 84" # e22FV sizing. If you have the 24" x 64" etrailer cargo carrier # e83YR and you're absolutely needing a cage to protect your cargo you could still use the 24" x 60" # e82FV and just have one side sit within the carrier. This would give you about 4" of space outside of the cage to still use.

    Great question, Ramiro! The etrailer Cargo Carrier Cage # e82FV is compatible with any standard hitch cargo carrier that measures 24x60 and has the raised rails running along the outside of it. I recommend the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier # 63153 because it has provisions built in for a light kit.
