Service people very helpful, a tight fit for my 10 year old Torro 826LE snowblower. Cant wait for snow, tired of shoveling at my rental, and will not have to buy and store a snowblower there.. Should have bought one a long time ago...

We are gald to know the carrier fits the bill. Enjoy the rest of the snow this season!

by:

The folding ramp latch mechanism is very poorly designed. It does not stay hinged while driving. This means another tie down strap is necessary.
Thr rest of the carrier is perfect.

by:

Arrived fast!! Very easy to assemble. Appears to made well.
Would like to have had better refelector tape or had option for brake light.
Very impressed with etrailers order and shipping process!!

by:

Very fast shipping, I like that.now about this rack, very well built and easy to put together.ramp is ok but not good enough for me,to steep, took to a welder shop and had another 2ft added, now it's 6ft long and folds up the same way,now it works great.this rack sits about 4ft from the truck so I'm putting lights on this and new stickers, the ones that are on suck, they fell off.now the receiver of the rack, can be turned to make the rack lower but to me it's to low and will drag in dips so I have it up high, its about 2ft now and can't drag that why I added to the ramp, make it work for you.now this rack does wobble some so buy a hitch stabilizer for 20 bucks that stops that problem. This is still better than dragging around a trailer and still I can park in a parking lot so it works for me

Well its been a year and this rack is dam tough, took on several long trips with no,problems .best bag for my buck.

by:

Like some of the previous reader comments, I would agree that two of the bolts simply do not work as given because the carrier's mesh base interferes when trying to tighten the screws (see image of bolt hole). I had to purchase 2 replacement bolts that had a flat edge by the bolt head (see image of two bolts - 3/8" original on top and replacement on bottom). Once they are in, though, things look pretty good. The reflective tape is angled and does seem flimsy but I purchased some new tape at the local Home Depot.

One other item to note is that the pull pin does not do a good job of engaging with the clip. It seems to me as though a bungee cord or strap would be used to hold the ramp in place so that it doesn't fall down because you really can't rely on the pin.

I haven't had a chance to take it on the road yet but I did connect it to my vehicle's hitch, loaded my snow thrower, and it seems to be a good purchase so far.

My vehicle was rear-ended last month, ruining the hitch among other damages. Luckily the carrier was not attached.I felt the carrier worked well for what use I got out of it. Im planning to buy a new vehicle and hitch and continue using it.

by:

Had another rack that was cheaper but not wide enough for what i needed that seemed a lot better built, not impressed with build but do like the folding gate and the tie down holes in the sides, I wouldn’t go as low as a three star rating but I don’t really think it is worthy of a four star either

by:

I like this carrier as it is the biggest size platform I could find for my 30" snowblower that I carry. I also used it to transport my 33" walkbehind lawnmower. Attaching it on your own can be done as I manage on my own, the only complaint I have is with the door ramp, the latch I fabricated to be used with a pin so it latches securely, otherwise the one that comes with it, it unlatches it self while driving which was unsafe. I prefered to have it securely held in place by a real pin through a hole I drilled to keep the door secure. Otherwise this hitch carrier gets the job done!

by:

So far I'm gonna rate it as 4* because I haven't used it yet, just put it together and test fit things. The carrier comes in one box, the ramp must be optional, because it comes in another box. Putting it together, I didn't have any of the problems some did where the grate would cover the bolt holes, so that wasn't an issue. I may put down a thin sheet of steel or something on the bottom, just so the bottom doesn't bow out when I haul heavier things. Not saying it will, but thought I heard some say theirs started to after a while.

The assembly was easy, I did it by myself, took my time. All hardware was included, which was nice. The only thing I didn't like, which I might change, was the hardware for the clip that keeps the ramp in place. The self-tapping screws didn't really screw that well, I suspect they stripped. The clip itself is kinda flimsy, but it works.

I plan on using this to snowblow mainly. The ramp is nice and the whole carrier is nice and wide, plenty of room to fit the 28" Ariens on there. Plenty of holes to mount stuff, ratchet clips, etc. I'd like to think of a way to mount some legs or something on it, because it's heavy and hard to move. To get it off the receiver, I put it on jackstands. Would be nice if a bolt-on method could be made available to help w/ install/removal and storage.

by:

Well the cargo carrier got here a little late due to our weather but arrived in great condition. When I was assembling it there were 2 washers missing and the self tapping screws did not work. Soi went to HD to get the parts I needed . While I was there I picked up some urethane washers to help keep the paint on where the Ramp connects to the tray and where the ramp folds in half. I thought this would help in keeping it looking good and help in keeping it from rattling when going down the road. The self tapping screws were a joke and after trying to get them to work I gave up and bought regular metal screws. I will probably change the bolts to SS after these start to rust. The unit looks and feels pretty sturdy so I am planning on a test run tomorrow when we get our next snow storm..

by:

The 5 star rating is based on fast delivery and ease of assembly. I haven't had a chance to test it out in the field, I just received it today, Dec 11.
Our 28" Ariens snowblower fits perfectly and there were no issues with loading it. I've been proactive and following the advice of other reviewers and added a bungee to better hold the ramp in place when driving. It seems solid enough for what we need it for. Others complained about the holes not lining up, I did not have that issue. It took less than an hour to fully assemble the carrier.
The reflective tape fell off before I got the thing put together and I agree with others that the mechanism to hold the ramp in the up position could use some improvement but overall for the price and size, this is what we needed to get the snowblower out of the back of the truck. I'll be adding reflectors and driveway markers on the back corners so I can see it in the rear view mirror. I would recommend this product to anyone that needs to haul a snowblower. We will also use it to transport our 5500W generator that's on wheels. One man can now load.

by:

Like other people say “ we need to do some work to secure the base” also the O ring by the lock is really fragile”
Very heavy and this is a 2 people work to connect to your hitch. Made in CHINA
I will drill another hole to the other side of the bracket to make sure is safe when You drive bumpy roads.

by:

Never fit correctly

by:

The spring loaded lock mechanism does not fit in the arm that raises up to hold the ramps in the up position. The opening of the arm where the silver spring loaded thing is not cut deep enough. i had to tie the ramp up with rope in order to keep it up

by:

Here is a picture of my snow blower on the carry rack I bought from you guys awhile back. I couldn't be happier, thank you.

by:

Rating = Excellent (*).
The overall,
good, bad & other.
Overall : solid and performs as advertised. I put my Ariens 30" snow blower on the Carrier while it was attached to my F250. Same for my Earthquake Shredder / chipper and a Husquavrna Walk Behind 20" weed wacker. Used two of these at a recent job. All items fit and work on this carrier. You might have to make you own mods IMHO for your specific needs. The key to this I discovered is securing whatever you are hauling. I have a variety of items. Each item is different. Some are top heavy (chipper) and others not at all.
(BAD#1) So I added my own attachment points to the FLOOR of the ramp. Items won't tip or fall if you have the axle pinned down. Those attachments were found at the hardware store for a few dollars. The holes in the frame of the Carrier designed to secure equipment are good but since the holes are on the outer frame it's difficult to really hold the item steady / ie: pin down the axles. Especially so if on bumpy terrain. I used a combination of bungee cords and ratchet type tie downs. (BAD #2) I noticed when I put the snow blower on the carrier for the first time that the screened floor of the carrier and ramp gave way slightly. You can see that the webbing of the carrier is not the thickest steel. I think with some weathering & use that the screened floor(s) will prematurely break where the most weight is laying. I added plywood to the ramp and some PT 2x6 where the tires will be on the floor. Very Solid now. HOWEVER, it weighs more too as a result. Even without the added weight, (Not Good vs bad) It's difficult to man handle on/off the vehicle. I added one of those wooden rolling furniture dolleys to move it in my barn where I store it. If you plan to just leave the Carrier on your vehicle this is not an issue. If like me you want it on for whatever task and remove it, you will want some type of roller to move it wherever effortlessly. (BAD #4) The ramp locking device is so cheap, mine is already bent and unreliable and I used mine outside of testing at home only once. I added a bungee cord to the top of the ramp to the floor of the carrier when folded up so it doesn't dislodge while driving.
Good: glad I got this. Does exactly what I needed. You will have to entertain making your own specific modifications for what you will haul. Also in the good was it was an excellent step up to the bed of the pickup to grab the wood in it. That makes it a lot easier to off load or entering the truck bed being higher up. The tail gate will not lower with the ramp in the up position.
Other: one of the accessories is a stabilizer designed to limit the wiggle while in transport. I jammed a couple of wood shims in there and it accomplished the same thing. Necky sure but it works. I also have plans for it to be used at some of my competitive shooting events. I'll move supplies with it on the range and use it as a table for signing in to the events. It makes a good chair and table while out on the job / event too. Add your own worn out cushions from home. I'll add pics of it later. :)

fine. same opinion as initial summary 1 year ago. forgot to mention that another benefit is space in neighborhoods where too big a trailer or any trailer is a problem. with this cargo carrier, I can get my equipment to the job and back w/little worries about blocking a driveway or making a Uturn.

by:

Giving this 4 stars because I haven't used it yet. Just built it and I'm impressed. It seems well made and sturdy. (Has some weight to it for sure) I'll be using this for a Push mower 30 inch. I haven't placed the mower onto it yet or placed this onto my truck hitch yet. I'm sure the mower is going to fit easily. Building it wasn't too bad. About 15 minutes or so. Shipping was quick. Comes in two boxes thankfully and is just regular shipping. Unlike some others the same size or larger, they need freight shipping which is a substantial price increase. Looking forward to using this for the upcoming season.

Still using the trailer and no major issues. Use it to haul a 150lb mower thats 30 inches wide and this trailer is perfect. 5 Stars for sure!!

by:

Very good product, the ramp makes it handy for transporting heavy wheeled items like lawn mowers, rototillers, etc. Only thing related to quality is that all of the warning stickers fell off within the first month. The carrier's weight makes it difficult for one person to remove or install it, I plan on making a small dolly to store it and move it to my car's hitch for installation/removal. In the meantime, I take off the ramp when installing or removing, that makes it light enough for me to deal with.

Still working fine after one year.

by:

Overall it functions well enough. A couple minor complaints; some of the fasteners have rusted. I think they should use stainless steel to improve this. I keep mine indoors 99% of the time and there is still some rust. Also, the locking mechanism that holds the ramp up doesn’t have a good enough engagement, so I use a bungy cord to make sure it stays up. That feature could be improved. But overall I am happy with the functionality.

by:

Great trailer, easy to assemble, and very well constructed. This fit the bill if you want the features that I did of a wider carrier to handle wider items (e.g. 30" snowblowers), and also a folding ramp. Most of the other hitch carriers seem to be limited at around 28" wide. All the hardware is there and good quality, although you'll likely need two sheet metal screws to replace the self tapping screws included in the kit.

by:

cargo carriers work great! we use them for hauling mowers for our landscaping business so they get daily abuse and hold up very well

by:

This rack is a great product and I would recommend it! The rack and ramp are very well constructed and exactly as described.

I purchased this rack to load and haul my 28" Ariens snow blower, which weighs more than 300 lbs, on the back of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. This rack was the only one I found that was wide enough for my blower. The integrated ramp makes it easy to load the blower and the good quality of the rack allows the blower to remain very stable while travelling over the road. It works great!

Only two things to be aware of if you purchase this rack, first, it's a bit cumbersome for one person to connect because of the weight and connected ramp. Second, the mechanism to hold the ramp vertically while in transit is not dependable, but it's easy to fix by adding a bungee cord.

I highly recommend this product and would buy it again!

by:

Finally got enough snow in Tahoe to put my snowblower carrier to work. It does exactly what it needs to. Holds my Honda 928 perfectly and super easy to use.
Quality is about the same as everyone else noted. My experience, bend back the mesh at the points where carriage bolts go through then hammer it back once bolts are through, forget using the hardware for holding the ramp up and use a bungee cord.
So far, so good!

  • Best Mobility Scooter Carrier for an RV
The best mobility scooter carrier we have for you is the Pro Series Steel Solo Cargo Carrier part # PS10401-10402. The reason I consider this to be the best is because it has the largest platform which is 47-3/4" long x 31-3/4" wide and a very long ramp which is 48" long x 31-1/2" wide. This will make loading the scooter much easier as the incline will not be nearly as steep. It has a 400 lb weight capacity and comes with reflector tape that improves the cargo carrier's visibility. If the 2 inch hitch on your vehicle is rated for at least 400 pounds tongue weight capacity, I would recommend using the Pro Series Steel Solo Cargo Carrier and Folding Ramp, # PS10401-10402. This carrier features a ramp for loading things like a snow-blower or lawnmower, see video link, and can easily be used to haul your camping gear when needed. The Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier, # 63153, would also be a good choice, but would be much harder to load a snow-blower or lawnmower on. We...

  • Recommended Cargo Carrier for Heavy Duty Snow Blower
For a heavy duty snow blower, you will need to make sure the width of your tires and clearing width are accounted for when choosing your carrier. The larger snow blowers normally have a 27 or 28 inch clearing, so to give you a little maneuverability and a ramp that isn't too steep, I recommend the 32x48 Pro Series Steel Solo Cargo Carrier and Folding Ramp # PS10401-10402. This will make the loading and unloading of your snow blower easy. I recommend the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver...

  • Cargo Carrier That Will Fit a 42" Long by 31" Wide Trike
Given the dimensions you mentioned I think you are referring to a cargo carrier rather than an actual trailer. We do have a couple options for you. The 32x48 Reese Solo Cargo Carrier # PS1040100 or the 32x48 Reese Steel Solo Cargo Carrier # PS10401-10402 if you want a ramp to make loading your trike easier. Both of these are 32" wide and 48" long.

  • Widest Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier Available That Has a Ramp
The cargo carrier with a ramp that we have that's closest to those dimensions is the Pro Series # PS10401-10402. However, it's only 32 by 48 inches. We don't have any open carriers that are wider than 32 inches at this time.

  • Recommended Mobility Chair Carrier for Jazzy 1450 Mobility Chair
The 32x48 inch Reese # PS10401-10402 carrier would work for you, but at around 100 lbs, it'd be pretty difficult for one person or even maybe two to wrangle into place. I'd recommend using a lighter carrier such as the Flint Hill Goods # FHG77ZR. The carrier is around 80 lbs, so it's considerably lighter and its inside platform dimension of 48 x 28 would accommodate your mobility chair perfectly. The carrier is compatible with the 2-inch receiver found on a Class III hitch. I've linked...

  • Recommendation to Raise Mobility Scooter Carrier to Avoid Bottoming Out with 2008 Dodge Caravan
I have 2 possible solutions for you. First, if the mobility chair footprint is less than 32 inches by 48 inches and weighs under 400 pounds, you could use a different carrier. Take a look at the Pro Series Steel Solo Cargo Carrier and Folding Ramp, # PS10401-10402, for 2 inch trailer hitches. This carrier has a ramp to load the chair and it also has a shank with a 4 inch rise. This keeps the platform a little higher than a straight shank carrier. I have included a link to the installation...
