What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out this boat bumper, also known as Defender from Taylor Made. So this is going to be the storm guard. And what you're going to do is tie on the rails, drop it down between the dock and your boat. It's going to keep it from colliding with each other. Let's check it out.
The storm guard's going to be great for boats of 15 to 20 feet long. So whether you're docked or you're mooring with another boat, it's just going to help be a buffer in between whatever's next to you. Taking a closer look at it. It's going to be an onyx black color. So that'll go good with the gel coat on your boat.
It's also going to have two eyelets on either end and they're not just flimsy pieces of vinyl. You see that they're on there pretty good. So I'm going to pull on it and show you that doesn't even look like it's close to tearing. So you're not going to worry about anything, leaving it on or attached to your boat. Both of them seem very sturdy.
On the other end, this is where you can add some more air into that. Now I can't put a whole lot in there but you can still use the same attachment used for a basketball or a soccer ball to get a little more air put in to your bumper here. You also have ribs on the side and that's just going to help you grab onto surfaces. So it's not just a flat vinyl bumper that can roll back and forth really easily. This one, at least has the grips on that.
That keeps it in the same spot. This is one of the ways that you can put on your fender on the side of the boat. Now this is going to be horizontal. So it matches the dock of your boat. And this is going to be so it doesn't travel as much back and forth. You might have a little bit of movement here but it's going to stay here for the most part. Now it's not going to work with our pontoon boat today. You can already see the dock's lower than this. So if we brought it in, wouldn't really offer the protection we we're looking for. So let's see the other way you can use your fender. First thing you want to do is make sure you get some rope. It doesn't come with any. So I have some leftover nylon rope from the last fender we used. So I'm just going to reuse that on this. You pick which eyelet you want to use and you'll run the rope through it. Now on my rope here, it has a loop on the other side. So I'm just going to run the rope back through that. That way, I don't have to tie that on the fender side. Now that side's secure. Now, we'll come over to the boat and see exactly where we want it. So it seems like you want a little bit of space. We can try to aim for the middle of the fender and the boat. That way, if the water comes up and the dock changes heights, it will still hit that bumper. It looks good right there. So we have an eyelet In our boat, we're going to run the rope through there, pull that through, see about where we want it. Looks good, right about there, I think. And then we'll just tie it off. Tie one knot and then I'm just going to take the extra and wrap around the bar here. I don't want to cut the rope yet, just in case I need to adjust it, I still can. Overall, I think this fender's going to work great. Whether you mount it horizontally or like we have it here. It's going to do what it's supposed to do and protect that boat from hitting that dock or colliding with anything. Or if there's storms or if the water's just getting little choppy. Because a lot of boats are going back and forth. There's a lot of movement. You're going to make sure your boat's protected. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and hope this helped..
The fenders are exactly as advertised.
