Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're looking at our Lewmar anchor rode with the chain. It's an 8-plait rope and shackle, 160-foot long. So folks, this is all the rope right here. I can personally attest that it is 160-foot long.
And the anchor rode is ideal for all Lewmar windlass gypsies out there. Now, this will provide durability and strength to hold your boat steady. The chain has been hot-dipped, it's a galvanized hot-dip, and welded to resist corrosion. You've got the little shackle here in the end that you could open up. And as you can see, the plaited rope here is an 8-plaited braided nylon.
So it's going to stay relaxed and strong even with age. And this plait rope minimizes the chance of hocking and kinking. Now, you can also store more rope in your locker than with a, say, a 3-stranded rope. So, this is going to save you space and also give you more rope inside of there. Now, this will also prevent unraveling because the whipping is handsewn.
Now, the length of the chain is 10 feet long. The link sizes here are 1/4 inch. It's a grade G4 or a grade 4. And again, the 10-foot chain, and then the 150-foot rope gives you a total of 160. The shackle size is 5/16 of an inch, and everything else is 1/2-inch thick as far as the rope here.
Well, folks, that is going to wrap it up for our look together at this Lewmar anchor rode with chain. I'm Steven, thanks so much for your time, thanks for watching. And please, I'd love to see some photos of this in use on your boat. Have a good one.
