Today we're going to take a look at the RockyMounts Shackleton U-Lock Combination Bike Lock. Now this lock is designed to prevent grab and go bike theft. Has a nice easy release button right up here at the top that when you push it, it's a spring-loaded engagement. Makes your operation very effortless when you put it around your bike. Has a nice durable 4-digit combination u-lock that can be programmed with your own personal code. All you have to do is, from the factory, it comes with a factory setting of all zeros.
If you put all the zeros there, that will allow you to go down here, move you're reset button and then program in the actual combination that you would prefer. The combination wheels that are on the lock are very durable. They're very easy to turn. They will help resist any attacks of somebody trying to break into them. The shackle itself is a 12 mm diameter hardened steel shackle. The shackle size dimensions if we put a ruler on it, the height of it, it's going to be right at 6 11/16 tall.
The width on it inside is going to be right at 3 3/4 in wide. If you notice right over here, it does include this mounting bracket for connecting to your bike. It has a nice protective sleeve in it so it doesn't damage your bike frame. This will attach to your frame. Gives you easy storage of this lock while you're riding.
It's a very easy release. There's a little button right here that if you just push down on that button, it allows you to release it and use your lock. Then to store it, just put it right in. I like this lock a lot. It took a bit of work to make it work with my bottle cage as I ride, but if I lean it out slightly, it fits. Never has gotten in my way at all. I always forget about it until it is time to lock up.
This lock has also seen some weather, as I will often go weeks with my bike on my car rack. Doesn't seem to affect it at all. Very solid lock. I would purchase again.
