Barrel lock on long pin fell off after first tow of 30 minutes

I used this pin with a Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 3" Hitches - 6" Rise, 8" Drop - 10-1/2" Long - 21K. The pin actually bent when I pulled a dump trailer. I worked with etrailer and they promptly replaced the pin under warranty. I had to cover the return shipping, but they did ship a new one to me.

My new B&W drawbar and ball assembly arrived today for my 2020 F250 Super Duty. It is a perfect complement to a great truck. The receiver lock completes the package. See the attached before and after picture.

Like that the key is pointing toward the rear of the vehicle, much easier to use.

This item has held up very well. It’s all my truck probably 300 days out of the year and all sorts of weather. The only thing that happened is the dust cover retainer has broken, but I still have cap and use it. It’s never been a problem to unlock or lock and it has never been an issue while using it to hold my hitch. The red colour has also faded somewhat from the sun over the air but it’s not horrible. I would definitely recommend this product and would absolutely buy another one.

Works with Yakima EXO and Lexus LX600 if you replace the Yakima anti rattle nut. Voids Yakima warranty, but anti rattle nut can be restored. Ucaveat, you may need to use only one of the two washers, I chose the lock washer

Just what I was needing! Like many Toyota owners I found that the factory 2” hitch actually required a longer pin. The customer service representative, Brandy M. that I talked to helped remedy my problem. Not only did she find me a product that would solve the issue with the length of the pin but one that locked and added an anti-rattle feature. Product #SHP2040-XL is the solution to the Toyota 2” factory hitch dilemma! It fits, locks, and has zero rattle or play! I couldn’t be happier!

I hate this lock. Why? Because it requires three hands to operate it, and so it's incredibly difficult to install it by yourself. You need one hand for the key, another hand to hold the lock end, and a third hand to push the non-locking end tight against the receiver. I had a locking pin then went with a trailer I sold, and I wish I knew which brand it was, so I could get another.

Can’t speak for durability yet since I just received it but seems to be a quality product which I expect it to be. Fits perfect on a 2011 GMC 2500HD receiver hitch.

Very inexpensive, strong hitch lock! Will knock the competitors out of the park. I would highly recommend this for a strong pin to hold your hitch in. I have one locking in my hitch and another locking in my ball.

This is a cargo platform assembled and attached to my 2003 Honda Element. I purchased all the items from etrailer I have to fill and load the Rola Tuffbak Cargo bag later to test it out on platform. I want to mention, ordering all my items was easy with the help of the customer service people. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and really answered every question I had. I try my best to study and compare items before I purchase them. I assembled and installed them all as just one guy taking hos time to do that. They have great service, timely delivery, and everything I bought has been as advertised, no gimmicks, no lies, no con games. Great company and I give them 100% for everything.

Works just fine. Fits as it should for my application and the lock mechanism works well. The only issue I've had with them is the rubber caps fell off all the time and I eventually lost one. I'll probably need to lube it more often as a result of the missing dust covers. It also may be more prone to freezing up in the winter. Funny how a missing $.03 part can be a problem.

These worked great for my teardrop trailer "Lock & Roll" hitch. The smaller diameter pin locks the arms in place around the trailer side portion and the other locks the vehicle side into the receiver. The hitch originally came with just a pin and safety clip for the arms and even if the pin fell out the hitch would not disconnect due to it's design. Though this lock set is for an entirely different trailer hitch, it worked perfect for the Lock & Roll application. Was very happy to be able to find such a set-up. Thanks etrailer.

One lock used to lock 5th wheel hitch to industry standard rails. One lock used to lock Industry Standard Rails to pickup truck frame. Both locks worked perfectly. I now have THREE locks on my expensive 5th wheel hitch to really slow down any evil doers. They would be making a hell of a racket trying to get my hitch. Thanks. As others have stated, these are good locks but it does appear to have a weakness of being able to pop the lock off with a pry bar.

The locks are big enough to fit both my hitch and ball hitch. 4 keys included makes it very convenient. Shipped very quickly.

Works fine. Just wish I had realized that that Anderson small hitch pin was larger. As the curt adjustable hitch I bought uses 5/8 pins for both.

Perfect! Fits the 2013 factory Tundra hitch PERFECTLY. Same key system, locks ball mount to sleeve, sleeve to receiver. I had been looking for this type of hitch/key lock for some time and was very happy with all the help E-Trailer and Jena provided in getting me one of their newest items of their inventory. I'll keeping back.

This is probably one of the best stainless hitch locks of the regular through-pin style locks. It installs flush, and uses a solid pin. The locking side is also beefier than most, and sits tighter and deeper on the pin than most other pin locks - making it harder to try and hammer it off, or getting at the pin with a cutting tool. The lock uses large solid ball bearings for the lockup, and a disk style locking mechanism, which is harder to pick without specialty tools. So overall, one of the best regular pin style locks. We towed a 6'x12' that weighed around 6,000lbs from PA to FL without any issues with the pin-lock. We actually had to disconnect our trailer along the way, a few times, and the pin was easy to work with, and the lock really smooth. Don't hesitate to get it.

I purchased this Bulldog pin for my 2015 Yukon with a factory installed hitch. In this application this Bulldog hitch pin fits very well. I selected this pin due to its simple design and the generally compact diameter of the lock cylinder and the pin's beveled head-end. The lock cylinder diameter is import since GM penetrates the nominal 2" ID hitch tube through a steel bulkhead. There is only 7/16" distance between the hitch tube's nominal 5/8" clearance hole edge and the face of the factory bulkhead. Also, the hitch tube is fillet welded to the bulkhead. Thus, both the pin head and the lock cylinder need to have some relief (i.e. the bevel on the pin head-end) in order to clear this external bulkhead weld. Most of the above fitment concerns are overcome by the Bulldog pin's grip length being greater than that listed on the etrailer site (and in their videos as well). Specifically, the grip length is 2-11/16" rather than the listed 2-1/2". See the attached photos. Note that in the first photo the lock cylinder is firmly seated on the ball locking end of the pin. In the photo note that the cylinder is fully engaged and locked, which would not be possible if the cylinder was not fully seated on the pin end. The first photo shows the dial caliper fully closed and properly reading zero. Also note that the GM hitch tube is 2-9/16" square (outside dim.), thus technically a 2-1/2" pin grip length would be inadequate in this application. Since I have a metal turning lathe I was prepared to machine the pin a slight amount in order to make it fit. Thankfully, this was not necessary since the grip length is 3/16" greater than advertised. The pin is Chinese made in "stainless steel". I did test the pin with a magnet and it does appear to be austinitic (high enough in Ni and Cr alloys) since the magnet had no attaction to the pin. I do like that the lock cyklinder has an internal o-ring to help keep out "road splatter". I also gave the lock cylinder a short squit of WD-40. In sum, a well designed rugged product at a fair price.

This hitch fits the Ford 3" hitch perfectly. I have been using it constantly for the past year and it has held up well. Still functions and looks new.

It worked well for 1 year but at the 1.5 year mark it has rusted and the lock no longer works--it accepts the key but does not engage the locking mechanism. Thankfully I was able to get it off the hitch receiver. Will need to replace it.

Clearance around the Tesla Model Y hitch receiver is tight but this anti-rattle hitch lock fit perfectly, even after torquing it to spec. The lock mechanism on the left comes very close to the 7-pin connector but it doesn’t touch and the lock rotates freely around the pin. Product appears to be of high quality.

I’m kind of disappointed in the experience at the moment. When I first inquired about a drop hitch adapter, I stated that I needed literally 1/8-1/4” drop, in order to allow my rear doors to open. I was informed that Curt has a product with a range from 2”-6” drop. In my mind the 2” would be the one I’d order. Turns out I should have double checked the order. I was mistakenly sent the 4” drop receiver, and there’s apparently no way etrailer can overnight the correct (2” drop receiver) to me before I leave this Sunday on a trip. If I use the 4” drop until the 2” arrival, I won’t be able to return the 4”. The etrailer people are very pleasant to talk to but problem solving is very disappointing.

Master locks are a name brand. It is so nice to have all locks keyed the same. This decreases the chance the camper will get stolen.

Poor quality. Could not get the lock to go back on the pin after unlocking. Replaced it with a much better product by Proven Industries.

I have owned two of these for a year now. And both of them are still in excellent shape the one on my truck and camper stay on year round.And neither one of them show any wear at all. And both work flawlessly yet. If you want a coupler and hitch lock keyed the same. I would highly recommend you by this set. And you can't beat trailer price and shipping rates also.

I use this lock on the my Brophy 7 inch hitch adapter that is on my bike rack. Works! Easy on and off. No rattles or play after a year of use in rain, snow and sunshine cause it is so rugged. And I don't see how you could cut it off. You would need a torch. So it gives me security peace of mind on the road and overnight in hotel parking lots.

Very well madea and secure locking bolt. It will keep your hitch locked for sure. make sure you have extra room for that lock.

It looked nice fit nice but on our first trip I couldn’t get it off after unlocking it. The locking pin bent. I though get I would have to cut it off but used a hammer to finish the job. Was hauling a 9,000lb TT. I used a Ford class V pin for the way home. Doesn’t lock but worked like a charm.
