ARB Base Platform Fixed Mounting Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and we'll be showing you how to install this ARB BASE platform rack on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner. This is going to be a custom fit platform rack for your roof. Platform racks are a great way to really expand the function of your vehicle because, much like a roof rack, you can use it to mount cargo to or other accessories and carry extra stuff with you. But where a platform rack really excels is decking your vehicle out. And this one is no different than the competition.



Best 2017 Toyota 4runner Roof Rack Options

What's going on, everybody Adam here with Etrailer today, we're going to help you decide which roof rack is going to be best for your 2017 Toyota 4Runner. To start off, if you're looking for an extremely economical choice, whenever you're trying to get crossbars up and onto your roof we have some that are going to be extremely straightforward. We do have these Malone ones. They're going to be square bars. And all that you got to do is tighten up this little knob here, and that's just going to clamp it to around your raised side rails. These are extremely easy, probably the easiest to install, and the quickest to do as well, but we're not going to be able to get any T-track accessories.



Malone SteelTop Square Crossbars Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota Forerunner, we're gonna be test-fitting the Malone steel top roof rack, part number MPG201. This can also apply to part number MPG202 as far as the install is concerned. The Malone steel top roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry bike racks, cargo baskets, as well as hard-top cargo boxes. They do have lockable end caps, so these are gonna be secured to your roof rack system once they're installed, and they're very easy to install. They just have this bolt here in the center that'll tighten down the clamper on your factory side rails, and then you're good to go.



Thule Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: So in our 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack system, part number TH7503-TH7503. This also comes in black as part number TH7503B-TH7503B. The Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories while maintaining a factory style look with your crossbars. The bars themselves do have an aerodynamic shape to them, and that coupled with the rubber strip up at the top, that's going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Also, if we remove our end caps, you can see that you can use T-track accessories with this roof rack system by simply removing the strip, cutting it to length, putting your accessory into place, and then replacing the strip.There is a downside to this, however, because these are so flush mounted, like you see here, you do lose a little bit of space that you would with the bars that go past the actual roof rack system itself. At each of our end caps, they do have a portion where you can knock it out and place in a Thule lock core system, which is sold separately, and you can find it on etrailer.com.



Yakima Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner we're going to be test fitting the Yakima RoundBar Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers Y00408, these are the round 48 crossbars, part number Y03536, this is the RoundBar SL adapter kit and part number Y00147 and these are the Timberline towers for the Yakima crossbars, particularly for factory raised side rails. The Yakima RoundBar Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. The RoundBars are strong and durable, however, you may experience some sound and noise while you're driving around with these. Yakima does have fairings that they offer to cut down the wind noise and drag, which you can find on etrailer.com or you can upgrade these bars to either the CoreBars or the JetStream bars as well.Our end caps are lockable by knocking out these plastic portions here. Not only can you secure it to your factory raised side rails but you can also make it keyed alike with your accessories.



Inno Roof Rack Review - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be testing fitting the Inno Aero Crossbar Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers INXB108-2. These are the Inno Aero Crossbars 42" long. We'll also be using part number INXS100, and these are the Inno Flush Feet for the Aero Crossbars, particularly for factory raised side rails.The Inno Aero Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof or freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. Once the bars are installed, they have a nice factory look to them, as you can see here. They do also have an aerodynamic shape to them, and that coupled with the rubber strip up at the top is going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive.



Inno Roof Rack Review - 2017 Toyota 4Runner INB127

Speaker 1: We're going to be test fitting the Inno square crossbar roof rack system consisting of part numbers INB127. These are the Inno Square cross bars, 50 inches long. We'll also be using part number INFR and these are the Inno feet for the fitted square crossbars, particularly for factory raised side rails. The Inno roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your vehicle.This can carry anything from bike racks, to cargo baskets, to cargo boxes. The bars are very strong and durable. However, because of the square shape to them, they may cause noise while you're driving.



Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be test fitting the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack System. Part number, MPG215. The Malone AirFlow2 is a great roof rack system designed to carry a wide variety of accessories on your roof or freeing up space inside your vehicle. It can carry anything from bike racks, to carry baskets, to cargo boxes. One of the biggest advantages to this roof rack system is, is it comes with everything already installed, so you don't have to assemble anything to get this onto your roof rack system.However, you do have some strips that you can cut into place and that coincides with the general shaped of the bars, which are aerodynamic, and that with the rubber strip at the top and the strip you'll cut underneath, that will cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Another nice feature about this is the fact that it can take any T-track accessories.
