There are two long scratches along the left rail that did not happen during shipping. This is going into a new truck and I need to paint it to keep it from rusting. etrailer credited me just over 5% of the total price of the hitch. I am very disappointed with their resolution. Shipping costs both ways to resolve this issue would be nearer $300. I won't be purchasing any more products from etraler.
Heavy duty with quality construction. Heavy but very manageable for one person to install and remove due to being a 2 piece design. Be aware that the lube is not in the instructions but in the info packet. That’s where you will find the B&W sticker. The powder coat is very thick and high quality as well but due to shipping I had a few spots that were chipped off and scrapped. This is installed on a 2022 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab Reg Bed with OE 5th wheel/gooseneck prep. My install setup is the middle setting high and rearward (towards tailgate.) this places the pin directly over the gooseneck ball opening so feel this is where GM thinks it’s strongest and the rear setting allows extreme turns with my 2013 Montana 3625RE. No slider required!!! I will attempt to add shots of my trailer hooked up so an idea can be had if you will require a slider or not.
The etrailer experts are a great resource. I requested information on what hitch would be best for my truck and situation. With the advice of an expert I felt confident in making this purchase and I am confident that this hitch will serve me well.

Installation was fairly easy, your videos helped. So far the hitch works great and I look forward to many mile of use.
Very easy to install takes 2 people most of the way and very time consuming . Looks great but haven't hooked up to a 5th wheel trailer yet . Will update at that time .
This product will do the job nothing fancy. Very very important you have help and multiple drill bits and various type of wrenches of the same size. Abt 3 hours to install with help and the instructions suck so get ready to call tech support which were very very helpful.

Package was a bit beat up, product is scratched up a bit but works as it should. Adam did a great job putting together everything I needed for delivery on time for my use.

When you use google chrome it does not move you to the next page to custom fit.
So it just tells you your truck shows you the product and I order 6k worth of items without putting in the custom specs that you don't know to hit. Somehow with the info I put in my two other products work but this one doesn't and I have to pay for shipping to this to fix it. Wish if you ordered 6k worth of Items they would be a little more understanding that their site does not walk you what needs to be done and help you fix the problem without charging you more. Prep and Puck systems are two different things now I know.

Received my companion hitch in two days. Free delivery. Couldn’t believe how fast it shipped. I installed it myself in 3 hours. The hitch is rock solid and built heavy. I can’t wait to hook on to my camper and try it out. It is very easy to install. A second person would be useful to set base.
Bought this as an open box item. I called on a Saturday to confirm a few details on the item and got my questions answered in just a few minutes! Thanks Brett! Was repacked great so arrived in great condition. etrailer has excellent service!

Very easy install. Looks great. Functions perfect. Easy hook up to fifth wheel. Perfect fit for my 2017 gmc HD Denali 3/4 ton with factory installed fifth wheel plate. Love it thanks. Just what I was looking for. Better than paying 1,000 dollars at chevy dealer for them to order.

Love the Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch. I have recommended it to everyone who has asked about it, and where to get it! Would highly recommend Anderson products. It eliminated all but 40lbs of hitch weight in it self. Tows great.

We have the Anderson Hitch installed on our 2017 Ford SuperDuty and pull a Reflection 337RLS. We have traveled over 4,000 miles and have been extremely satisfied. The hitch allows plenty of clearance between 5th wheel, bed, and the truck cab. Hook-up and disconnect has always been easy, even with RV lots that were uneven dirt lots. I use Curt thin rubber sound dampeners (item 16900) and this provides a quiet, tight fit between the rails and hitch. Of course the light weight makes it easy to remove when not towing and less weight when you are towing. A great product for the right truck, trailer combination.
I have ran a cheap competitor hitch for several years.
A manufacturing defect (welded pivot pin) caused the hitch to fail and resulted in 18000$ damage to my truck and trailer.
I chose the Curt 25000# hitch after much research and found it to be very well made and clearly shows when it is properly coupled. It is quiet and operates with minimal klunking and chunking going down the road.
Overall I am very pleased.
It took me about an hour to install the hitch by myself. The hitch is just what I expected, it assembled well and was designed for my GMC just as expected.

I recently purchased a Reese M5 20K hitch for my new Silverado 3500HD, Crew Cab, 8’ bed. As usual, Etrailer pricing was very good and with free shipping to boot. The hitch arrived via UPS in just a few days after placing the order.
Following the detailed instructions provided by Reese, the install into the factory “puck” system, was fairly straight forward. However, a word of caution concerning the install. There are 4 15/16” bolts that need to be torqued to 220-foot pounds and are somewhat difficult to get to. Fortunately, I was able to borrow a torque wrench that would accommodate the recommended foot pounds of torque.
Also, you may have an issue if you need to place the hitch at its highest position. The release handle might protrude above the bed rails of your truck in this position. This will be a problem if you have a bed cover. Reese is/was well aware of this issue and sells an after-market handle that will correct this issue. Etrailer lists this handle on their Web page.
Installed in a 2018 GMC 3500 LB SRW
Overall it was really easy to put together. Its light enough move in and out and very sturdy. I did not have a clearance issue with the Backflip cover regarding the stock handle. See pics.
Just a heads up, I had an issue with the threading in the legs, etrailer was very understanding and sent me out replacements supper fast. I contacted Reese regarding paint guncked up in the threading and they were aware of the issue, they recommended running a wire brush or a tap to clean it out.
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on 2016, GMC Sierra 2500, we're gonna be checking out the B&W Patriot sliding fifth wheel hitch. So you have your fifth wheel rails installed in your truck and now you're needing a hitch. That way you can hook up to your trailer and do some towing whether it be a camper or car hauler, whatever you got, you know, you're gonna need a way to hook up to it. And that's where a hitch like this is gonna come into place. When it comes to towing, if you're familiar with it at all, I'm sure you've heard of that B&W name, there's a reason for it.
What's up everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, on our 2016 GMC Sierra 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at the Demco Hijacker Fifth Wheel system. So this is gonna be ideal for your six and a half foot beds, because it is the Autoslide Fifth Wheel. So what that means is, well, I'm gonna tell you. So as you start to turn with these shorter beds, as you turn, it's gonna slowly slide back. The cool thing about this one is you don't have to get out of your truck to activate that feature.
Surprisingly nobody makes a slider hitch for the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 rail kits. All that's available is stationary hitches. Only solution is a stationary hitch like the B and W Companion # BWRVK3700 with a Sidewinder pin box.
You will need to remove the pin box of the trailer and replace it with a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.
There should be a sticker or... view full answer...
The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch won't work with a B&W Turnovernall Gooseneck Trailer Hitch. The issue is not that they don't offer a way to attach the two but rather that the singular connection point cannot withstand the stress of an auto-sliding fifth wheel hitch.
Therefore, you can either use the B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3400 or remove the B&W Turnovernall Gooseneck Trailer Hitch and install the Underbed... view full answer...
I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 and it looks like the max tongue weight for a 5th wheel trailer is 3,000 lbs and the max Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is 21,000 lbs. With this being the case you can safely tow your Keystone Montana 3221RL but I recommend checking your copy of the owner's manual to verify these weight ratings.
Using your pickup to tow will obviously add some strain that will cause premature wear but... view full answer...
We have what you need.
There are a few things to consider. The weight limit of your truck and the weight of the fifth wheel you want to tow.
Check your owners manual for the exact specs to your truck. The base 2500HD Denali has a max towing capacity of 13,000 pounds for standard towing and a fifth wheel capacity of 18000 pounds.
So if that is the case I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3770... view full answer...
To tow your 5th Wheel Trailer on your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 with Factory Rail Kit, I recommend the Curt A16 Slider Hitch # C16521 along with adapter rails # C16023. The Demco Hijacker # DM6076P-UL-16K you referenced in your question is not compatible with the factory rail kit on your vehicle.
The Curt A16 is a 16,000 lb capacity sliding trailer hitch with an interlocking 2-jaw system that will help create a quieter ride and the adapter rails are custom fit to work with the... view full answer...
The dry hitch weight, also called tongue weight for travel trailers or pin weight for 5th wheel trailers, is the amount of weight pushing down on the trailer hitch. Dry means the trailer is empty; no cargo, water, propane, just the trailer by itself. So the dry weight is less important than the actual hitch/tongue/pin weight when the trailer is loaded and ready to tow.
Based on the figures you have provided the trailer has a hitch weight that is 21 percent of the gross trailer... view full answer...
As long as your truck doesn't have a body lift, meaning the bed is further away from the truck's frame than stock, you should be fine.

If the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of your 5th Wheel Trailer is 15K then you will want to get a 5th wheel hitch that is rated for a little over that capacity as you don't want to be stressing out the hitch at its max.
Since your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 has a 6-1/2 foot bed you will want to get a sliding 5th wheel hitch to make sure that you have proper cab to trailer clearance when making tight turns.
The best option for you is the 18K Demco Hijacker Autosliding 5th... view full answer...
Since your trailer has the MORyde Orbital Pin box you can go with a stationary hitch in your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed. Normally you'd need a slider hitch due to your short bed for turning clearance.
I really like the Reese 20k part # RP30081. This hitch has a jaw that provides 360 degrees of contact and has a cushioned head which means you'll have a very smooth ride.
For a rail kit you'll want to go with a custom install kit as they minimize drilling and install time... view full answer...
Jameson's wording could've been better but what he meant was that there isn't any way to adjust the connection point of the Curt CrossWing Lightweight # C92DR since it only allows for you to raise of lower the hitch head. In the question he was asked the neighbor referred to the Andersen hitch and talked about moving it a specific way to allow for more turning clearance. The # C92DR can only be mounted one way and doesn't offer adjustability.
Per Curt's website, the CrossWing... view full answer...
If you had the factory rail kit in your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 there would be holes or pucks in the bed of your truck where you see the dimples in the bed. Those dimples are there on all of the truck beds but for the models with the Rail Kit they would be cut out.
If you wanted to go with a similar style of underbed fifth wheel hitch setup for your truck the Reese M5 hitch part # RP30921 would be an excellent option. And then for the underbed rail kit you would want the part... view full answer...
