Your company provided me with excellent service and great quality products, it was an excellent transaction and I would recommend you to everyone as a perfect seller. But how do I review a hitch mount and hitch ball? They are just inanimate objects sitting on the back of my truck, they don't do anything. They aren't mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic, they just sit there; however I know they will do the job of pulling my trailer just fine. Thank You for a perfect internet transaction!!!!! I own a couple of these in different drops and really prefer them over solid mounts. The cushioning does help protect the driveline of the tow vehicle and removes the harshness sometimes related to towing a trailer. Not cheap but well worth it to me. 538491

Great! These are tough but easy on the tow vehicle. Still doing great even after a full year of pulling some fairly heavy loads. Recommended!

Super fast shipping as usual. Have not pulled anything over 5,000 lb yet. I assumed the insert on the draw bar would be bar stock - it's tubular. Will be interesting to see how that does dragging a 14,000 lb trailer to Alaska. If it doesn't egg out, I will be impressed. 269439

I only use cushioned ball mounts as I'm sure that they are less harsh on transmissions, clutches etc. These ball mounts are definitely high quality and the best deal around 152306

Great/responsive service during the ordering process & the items arrived as promised. This Ball Mount is stout! The cushioning benefits work as described...much less hitch assembly noise in stop-n-go traffic than I've experienced in the past. Thanks! 139607

Really well built product. I did find it to fit a little tight in my receiver. I had to grind some of the edges off so it fit and could be removed without having to hit it with a hammer. It is a really good product otherwise. It smooths out the trailer really well. 129854

Will never buy another hitch without the cushion. It saves wear on the transmission jarring, and greatly smooth's out the ride. I actually will be ordering more for pulling wagons on the farm, as this one it ordered is set-up for the trailers with 2-5/16" ball. Definitely would recommend to anyone who pulls a trailer. 316710

Review from a similar Cushioned Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

These cushioned ball mounts are awesolutely awesome. I don't even know my trailer is behind the truck unless I look. They eliminate all the slamming and jerking of your tow vehicle you get with a regular hitch. I sold all my regular hitches and only run with cushioned ball mount hitches. I have the 2" and 4" drop mounts. I won't hesitate to buy a 6" or 8" drop cushioned ball mount should I ever need one. Do your tow vehicle a big favor and get one of these. You'll be glad you did too...... 178866

That is how I like to shop, on the back porch sipping an ice tea instead of driving through traffic and wading through stores. Just received the product, looks great and excited about hooking the fast boat up to it and heading to the lake. 369141

Review from a similar Cushioned Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

2007 Toyota Tundra 5.7L, 7X14 Parker flatbed tandem axle utility trailer 7700 lb capacity. I've only used it once since purchasing it, but compared to my previous non-cushioned ball mount it does an excellent job cushioning the load and keeps the trailer from banging the mount in the box and shaking the truck upon braking and acceleration. Very nice when hauling 2+ tons of cargo. Fast shipping from etrailer too. 131504

Still going strong, no complaints. Ive used it about a dozen times now. Still love it.

Review from a similar Cushioned Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

Just received this mount and did the test fit with our trailer. We have not hit the road with it yet but I am confident it will perform perfectly. I am anxious to see how the cushioned feature works. We pull a box cargo trailer for business and just got a new Chevy HD pickup to tow with. It has a 2.5" receiver and hitch height is much greater than the Suburban we were using plus it had a 2" receiver. This mount is rated for far more weight than we will ever need but it was the only 2.5" size with 6" drop that I could find. We are very pleased with the product and the excellent customer service we got at etrailer. Thanks to everyone there for the very fast service and for keeping me informed as to the status of my order. well done! 105264

Now that you have driven with the cushioned ball mount for a while, do you think the cushioned feature is beneficial?

Have now used this mount several times. It is VERY heavy duty and we get no where near its full capacity. I do like the cushioned feature. It noticeably reduces usual shocks that get transmitted to the tow vehicle which, in my opinion, reduces stress on driveline components. The 2.5 inch shaft size eliminates the need for a reducer sleeve for 2 inch mounts which firms up the whole vehicle trailer connection. Also increases comfort for driver and passengers. I did make one mistake however. I figured the amount of I needed by the book. The formula said I needed six inches of . I did not anticipate enough squat in the truck with trailer loaded. As it turned out, I had to use a two inch riser ball to put the front of the trailer where I wanted it. A four inch mount would have been sufficient but I still recommend this product.

Review from a similar Cushioned Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

This hitch works great, have pulled up to capacity, up to a dozen trailers a day, have small & large ball attached, easy to flip over to match trailer, cushion takes some of the roughness out of a stop, recommend it. 243614

Review from a similar Cushioned Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

Nice product, fits well. Works way better that using the 2" version and the adapter sleeve in my f450. Took all the slop out and my hitch mounted mud flaps don't wiggle around anymore. The only thing I don't like is there in not a convert-a-ball type system for this size. Received prompt service from etrailer. Thank you. 209458

  • What Is Torque Rating For Hitch Balls Used In Cushioned Ball Mount For 2-1/2 Inch Receiver Opening
For a cushioned ball mount like the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount, part # AMSCV-4, it uses hitch balls with a 1-1/4 inch shank. For a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19286 and for a 2 inch hitch ball I recommend part # A-90. The torque rating for both of these hitch balls is 450 ft. lbs.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a Ford F450 with a 2-1/2 inch Hitch Opening
There are three ball mounts we offer that will work for the 2-1/2 inch hitch on your Ford F450 with a 2-1/2 inch opening. The problem that many encounter is that the Ford 2-1/2 inch hitches are very tight with round corners and many ball mounts like the Reese Titan Ball Mount # RP45323 that you referenced will not fit without modification. The ball mounts we have found to work on the Ford 2-1/2 hitches are the Cushioned Ball Mount # AMSCV-2, the Cushioned Ball Mount # AMSCV-4, and the...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation Rated for 14,000 Pounds Gross Trailer Weight on a Ford F-450
To determine the receiver size you have, I have included a link to an FAQ that will help. The Reese 2-1/2 inch Titan ball mounts like # RP45323 or the one found in # EBMK25318, tend not to fit the factory 2-1/2 inch receivers on Ford Super Duty trucks. You will need to use one of the Convert-A-Ball ball mounts. We have # AMSCV-6 with a 6 inch drop or 4-3/4 inch rise. We also have # AMSCV-4 with a 4 inch drop or 2-3/4 inch rise. And then we have # AMSCV-2 with a 2 inch drop or 3/4...

  • Is Sag Caused by Trailer Tongue Weight Considered When Choosing Ball Mount w/the Right Rise or Drop
At most the tongue weight of a trailer would cause about 1/2 inch to 1 inch of sag at the ball mount (give or take a little and different for every vehicle). But on a 2016 Ford F-250 the suspension is potentially beefy enough to limit the sag to even less than that. The trailer can be off of level one way or the other (high or low) by as much as 1 inch and still be considered level. For cushioned ball mounts that fit a 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver we have the following options: #...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2013 Ford F-350 with Factory 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch
The OEM Ford 2-1/2 inch receiver has more rounded edges. Many 2-1/2 inch accessories, in this case ball mounts, have more squared off corners. This difference causes the squared off accessories not to fit. In some cases, some of the powder coating can be removed from the shank on the accessory as long as none of the metal is ground off. That could work on a ball mount like # 45123 since it has more rounded corners than something like # RP45323. If you use an accessory that has more rounded...
