Thanks so much etrailer for awesome products and customer service!

https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Kuat/KU57FR.html

Thanks also to kuat for top notch engineering and primo bike racks!

by:

My husband helped me assemble this add-on. The instructions were clear enough, but it's easier with someone to hold while the other does the fasteners. We just finished it so haven't carried two bikes yet, but it's rock-solid, no rattling. I've been using the single rack for a couple years and it's been great. One thing I would recommend is using a front tire velcro strap. It's just added insurance.

Heck yeah, that's great advice for future customers reading the reviews. Thanks for your feedback! keep us updated on how it goes with 2 bikes? Where do you guys like to ride?

by:

Really easy installation, I did it together with my 6 year old son. I can now carry 3 bikes. The whole thing becomes pretty heavy (expected). They could have provided replacement endcap screws since that has been weathered for 2 years.

by:

very happy with this.

by:

Easy install!!! The eTrailer YouTube install made this a simple breeze with no extra tools needed. Thanks!

by:

easy add to Transfer V2 system and has held up well for 1yr. Highly recommend the Kuat brand + etrailer.com

by:

I love that the Transfer v2 can be a compact 1-bike rack for daily use, expandable to 2 bikes for special occasions. It's easy to put the expansion on and off.

by:

Ordered the v1 when I should have ordered the v2. There was no way to tell on the existing rack what version it was. After working for hours to assemble, I contacted etrailer and they diligently researched the issue with' Kuat when the parts wouldn't fit together. I then ordered the v2 and returned the v1. A better description of v1 vs. v2 would have saved hours of my and their time.

by:

Easy assembly and as always, love that etrailers is with you every step of the way.

by:

Fast shipping and exactly what i needed.

by:

Even though it took a very long time to get the item (not etrailer's fault at all), we were very happy to get the item and trailer is to be commended for their diligence. Thank you. Through all this time, I was kept informed of the status with periodic updates. This is a very difficult item to procur so we're very pleased.

by:

Easy to install and looks the same than the more expensive ones.

  • Can Kuat Transfer V2 3-Bike Rack Convert to 2-Bike Rack
Hi Howard; if this was originally the 2-bike # KU84FR all you need to do is remove the add on # KU57FR to convert it back. If it was originally the 3-bike version # KU24FR you will remove the cradle and hook arm but the arms they attach to will remain extended out as they are now. There are no special instructions or other info you should need to make the conversion.

  • Expandable Bike Rack Recommendation for 2024 Ford Bronco
Hey Dove, so you'll want a hitch mounted bike rack as the spare wheel racks when loaded should have have the rear doors opened as that puts a lot of stress on the hinges of the rear door. So with a hitch like the Draw Tite part # DT37GR you could use the Kuat Transfer part # KU84FR and then for each bike you wanted to expand you could use the part # KU57FR as this is a 2 bike rack that can be expanded out to 4. If you wanted ability to swing bike rack away to allow rear door access you...

  • Recommended Single Platform Bike Rack Adapting to Two Bike Rack
Thanks for your kind words! We do have bike racks that can be single or two bike carriers. I recommend the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack # KU64FR because the design makes loading easy for one or two bikes because there isn't a bar in the middle so you can walk the bike from the balanced middle right to the cradles. Then you would add the 1 Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer # KU57FR. I've attached a video to assist.

  • Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Rack Compatibility with Trek Pure Sport
The # KU64FR Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack is a tire mount rack that fits a variety of bike frame styles. It supports up to a 50 inch wheelbase bike and the Trek Pure Sport has a wheelbase of 46.25 inches so it does fit your bike. It's worth noting an additional bike add on capability with the 1 Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer 1-Bike Platform Rack part # KU57FR. A hitch of 1 1/4 inch or 2 inches is required for this rack so we would be happy to recommend one as well should you not...

The 1-Bike Add-On TSAOB is for the previous V1 version of the Kuat Transfer. The mounting connections are different between these 2 racks as it was upgraded to be more robust with the V2.

  • Choosing Between Kuat Transfer KU64FR and RockyMounts MonoRail Solo RKY10007 Single Bike Racks
Either the Kuat Tranfer 1 # KU64FR or the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 1 # RKY10007 would handle the bikes you describe easily. Both would hold the bikes by the tires, so the fact that the rack won't come into contact with the frame will work well with your Carbon Fiber framed bike as well as the aluminum framed one. Either rack has sufficient room to handle your 45 inch wheelbase mountain bike as well as the 3 inch wide tires. Both racks offer raised shanks for tons of ground clearance,...

  • Saris SuperClamp EX or Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Which is Better?
Between the Saris SuperClamp EX 4 Bike Platform Rack item # SA4026F and the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack item # KU24FR, I would go with the Kuat because it will better suit your needs. The Kuat is 12lbs lighter (without add-on) and will be much easier to remove or install on your vehicle than the Saris. This will also be a less expensive setup. You are correct the Kuat will stick out farther than the Saris especially after you attach the add on. As far as your back up camera goes it will...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Spoiler
The trunk mount bike rack I recommend for your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a spoiler is the Yakima HangOut 3 Bike Rack # Y02638 since it's the nicest one that is compatible with your spoiler. This is a hanging style rack so if any of your bikes lacks a horizontal top tube you'll need to pick up an Adapter Bar # Y02531. With that being said, the straps will still make contact with your spoiler so with prolonged use there is a chance the straps can cause damage. Because of this I recommend...

  • How to Tell Difference Between V2 and V1 Kuat Transfer Bike Racks
The 1 Bike Add-On # KU57FR allows you to add an additional bike to the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Racks 1-Bike # KU64FR and the # TSAOB is for the older V1. The easiest way to tell which version you have is look at the shank that slides into the vehicle hitch. If it is a curved piece of metal that goes up to the pivot mechanism it's a V1. If it's a straight shank with two flat brackets that attach to either side it's a V2.

Thank you for your purchase of the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7192 for your 2014 Toyota Prius v! Both the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # SH22G and the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR are excellent bike racks but for what you're looking to get out of a bike rack I recommend going with the Transfer V2 over the Sherpa 2.0. • Recommended Trailer Hitch and 3-Bike Rack for a 2022 Honda CR-V
I recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e98848 for your 2022 Honda CR-V because it has a matte black finish that will do a great job at blending in with your fascia as well as hide any scratches that might happen from road debris hitting the hitch. When it comes to a bike rack I really like the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # KU24FR because it has a foot pedal for tilting/folding the carrier and a U-Shaped frame which makes it much easier to install and remove your...

  • Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack for 2020 Honda Odyssey
For a hitch for your 2020 Honda Odyssey I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76170. This hitch has a concealed cross tube so it will have a clean look once installed on your van. This also means you will have more clearance, which is important since the van already sits pretty low. For the bike rack, a 2-3 bike conversion is going to be as good as it gets. The RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10004-10005 is a good option that already comes with the 3rd bike add-on. It...

When determining how far a rack is going to stick out on your vehicle, most racks are going to be measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest part of the rack; so the distance it's going to stick out depends on the receiver tube of your hitch and your vehicle's bumper. With that being said, I recommend going with the Kuat Transfer 1 # KU64FR since it offers the most narrow profile behind your vehicle and has the ability to be added onto with a 2nd platform to carry...

  • Recommended Single Bike Rack for a 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross With a Class I Hitch
I think the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike # KU64FR you're looking at is a great choice. This hitch has a 60 lb per bike capacity, will work with a class I hitch, and can be upped to a 2-bike rack in the future with the 1 Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Racks # KU57FR. Just so you know, this add on does not have the same capacity as the single bike rack; the add on can only support up to 40 lbs, but with your bike being 37 lbs this'll still work fine.

The main thing that causes hatch contact is the bikes handlebars. You need to put the shortest handlebars on the closest cradle towards your vehicle. You can also add one bike to the end of this rack # KU57FR to make a two bike configuration.
