If you want a clean, factory look when you’re not towing, this setup is built for that. The hidden design keeps the brackets tucked away so nothing sticks out past the front. The removable arms twist off in a couple of seconds, and the included receiver covers plug into the openings to keep dirt and debris out. It’s a simple setup that keeps your front end looking sharp and snag-free.
Connecting your tow bar doesn’t get much easier. Each arm slides into the receiver and locks with a twist, then secures with a pull pin. When you’re done towing, just pull the pin, rotate to release, and remove the arms. The system uses sturdy lugs that pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a solid connection every time.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis—no welding needed—and the steel construction is powder coated to resist rust and corrosion. The sturdy design spreads towing forces evenly to help prevent stress on your suspension. It’s built to handle long hauls with confidence mile after mile.
If you already have a favorite tow bar, this kit gives you options. It connects directly to Blue Ox tow bars and can be adapted for use with Roadmaster (RM-031 or RM-031-5) or Demco (DM9523041) models, sold separately. Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector plug bracket so your wiring stays neat and accessible up front.
The distance between brackets is 20" and bracket height is 17". These dimensions help you line up your tow bar connections accurately and plan your towing setup without guesswork.

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.
