When you’re not towing, this setup keeps things looking factory-clean. The completely hidden design means no bulky brackets stick out past the front of your vehicle, and the removable arms pull free with a simple twist and pin release. Snap-in receiver covers keep dirt and debris out so everything stays smooth and tidy for the next trip.
Connecting the tow bar is simple and repeatable. Each arm slides into the receiver, twists to lock, and secures with a pull pin. When you’re done towing, just reverse the motion to remove them. The system’s 18" distance between brackets and 19-1/2" bracket height give you clear reference points for planning your tow bar setup.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis with included hardware—no welding needed. The sturdy, powder-coated steel construction resists rust and corrosion while spreading towing forces evenly to help reduce stress on your suspension during long hauls. It’s backed by a 3-year warranty for peace of mind over countless miles.
You can pair this base plate right away with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection. It’s also adaptable for use with Roadmaster tow bars using adapter # RM-031 or # RM-031-5, or with Demco tow bars using adapter # DM9523041 (each sold separately). Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector bracket so your wiring stays organized and ready to plug in.

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.
