Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at the Shocker HD Air ReceiverHitch with drop mount for your two inch hitch receiver. This heavy duty shock absorbing hitch features an airbag and cushion bump stops that are going to give you a smoother, more comfortable ride while limiting chucking and jerking to give you better control over your tow vehicle and your trailer. This is actually going to help extend the life of your truck and your trailer by protecting them from unnecessary wear and tear. It's gonna help reduce the noise and rattle that's common when towing with standard ball mounts.
Now as I mentioned, this is going to slide into your two inch hitch receiver and this does require a minimum of seven inches of clearance between the center of the hitch pin hole and the rear most part of your truck and five inches of clearance below the bottom of your receiver tube. Your receiver opening should be flush with your bumper or protruding from the rear of the vehicle for the best fit. Now this does have a gross towing weight of 20,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 2000 pounds, but of course you do need to remember that a towing setup is always limited by its lowest rated component, whether that be your vehicle or your hitch or another component. Now you are going to receive three easy to remove pins. If you notice they do have these large rings here that's gonna make it very easy to grasp.
As you can see, I can fit up to four of my fingers through one of those rings so you're not gonna have to worry about fumbling with small hitch pin heads. These also have large safety clips that's going to make securing this very easy and what I appreciate about these pins and clips, I just wanna give you a brief demo here, is that these operate very smoothly so you're not gonna be struggling there at the back of your truck trying to adjust this. So the pins are not going to give any problems at all and it's gonna be very easy to adjust the drop on this and it'll take just a matter of seconds if not minutes really. So very smooth operation. You're gonna get a drop range from about 4-1/2 inches to 8-1/2 inches.
The inside width of this channel is right at 3-3/4 inches and the distance between the vertical adjustment holes is an inch. You're going to have eight of these adjustment holes here and this is going to be compatible with any Shocker hitch accessory. The steel ball attachment here is zinc plated and the body of this Shocker hitch is designed to pivot back and forth on the shank and kind of like a seesaw or a teeter totter as the airbag which sits directly beneath your truck's receiver and the cushion bump stops are going to take turns absorbing the road shock. You probably can't see those bump stops. Lemme just tilt this here.
So there you see those bump stops there. So the airbag and the bump stops are going to work together to give you a smoother ride and when you hit a bump and the trailer bounces, the unit is going to pivot so that the airbag can isolate and absorb the energy. And then when your trailer jerks forward or backward, these two cushion bump stops are going to help soften the force. Now the airbag is easily adjustable for heavier loads. You're just gonna add more air and this is going to be our air valve right here and it does come with a cap. So it's a Schrader valve so it's gonna be very easy to fill this up. So as I said, for heavier loads you'll add more air, for lighter load, you'll let air out. To determine the correct amount of air to use, you'll just hook your trailer up and then you're gonna load the trailer the way you're going to tow it and then add air until these bump stops begin to compress. And once they compress, then you should have the right amount of air in the airbag for your load and then you'll be ready to go. This does also feature a grease Zerk fitting right here that's going to make lubricating this very easy. This is made here in the USA of grade 50 steel plate construction and a cold rolled steel shank that's gonna give you maximum durability. As you notice, this does feature Shocker safety red powder coat finish. It's an impact resistant premium coat finish that's here on the base frame. And this is gonna again slide into your two inch hitch receiver. The hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. And if you'll notice here, this does include this pin and clip, however this is really an investment that you're making. And so even though this does include a pin and clip to attach this to your trailer hitch receiver, I would recommend taking a look at our InfiniteRule locking pins for Shocker hitch ball mounts. You will get three and one pin will be to secure it to your trailer hitch receiver and then the other two will be used to secure your attachment to the Shocker hitch. So if you're interested in looking at those locking pins, I am including our part number there. You can just take that part number, pop it in the search field of our website, that will take you to those pins and you can add those to your order if you so desire. Now just some other bits of information that my prove helpful for you. I went ahead and took some measurements that might be helpful for you just so you are confident that this is going to work at the back of your truck. And let me see if I can line this up here and put my ruler up to it so you can see as well. The overall height we're about 11-1/4 inches tall. And then this might be a little bit trickier to show. Let me actually remove this pin and clip. There we go. Now measuring from the center of our first hitch pin hole to the center of our ball, let me see if I can line this up so you can see, get my hand out of the way. So as I hope you can see we are sitting pretty close to right at about 10-1/2 inches there on center. So first hitch pin hole to the center of the ball. Then moving to the second hitch pin hole to the center of the ball about 11-1/2 inches. And then measuring from the second hitch pin hole, the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of our shank, move my hand there, about 2-3/4 inches. So I thought maybe those measurements might be helpful for you. Something some other final notes I wanna leave you with. A two inch Shocker Air Receiver will not fit a 2-1/2 and a half inch hitch, even with a reducer sleeve as trucks with a 2-1/2 inch hitch typically have deeper frames. And a 2-1/2 inch Shocker Air Receiver will fit a three inch hitch with a reducer sleeve. You will get an instruction sheet here just to walk you through the easy installation and operation. But I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
