Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: 3/4" Rise or 2" Drop

Getting the right height between your truck and trailer makes a big difference in how smoothly everything tracks. This ball mount gives you both a 3/4" rise and a 2" drop, so you can dial in a level setup whether your trailer sits high or low. That simple adjustment keeps your load even and towing stable on every trip.

Gives You More Room for Add-Ons: 12" Long Shank

Sometimes you need extra space to fit accessories like a bike rack or to clear the tongue jack. The long 12" shank on this mount provides that breathing room between your bumper and the trailer coupler. It measures 12" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, giving plenty of clearance without overextending your setup.

Built Strong for Everyday Towing: 5,000 lbs GTW / 500 lbs TW

When you’re moving campers, small boats, or utility trailers, this mount handles the load with confidence. It’s rated for a 5,000-lb gross towing weight and a 500-lb tongue weight, giving you dependable strength for regular hauls. The sturdy steel construction holds up under stress while keeping everything solid and steady on the road.

Fights Rust and Road Grime: Gloss Black Powder Coat Finish

Hitches live in tough conditions—rain, salt, dust, and more. This one’s built to handle it with a powder coat finish over an a-coat base that protects the steel underneath from corrosion. The gloss black surface keeps it looking clean while standing up to years of use in all kinds of weather.

Simple and Reliable Setup: Fixed Ball Mount Design

Sometimes the best gear is the kind you don’t have to think about. The fixed design slides into any 2" x 2" receiver and stays put once you pin it down with a standard 5/8" hitch pin (sold separately). With no moving parts or adjustments to worry about, it’s a straightforward mount that delivers quiet, no-drama towing every time.

The person that helped me with this order recommended the wrong lock (he gave ne part numbers). I had to but one locally
And you want me to pay to have it shipped back. You should refund me and pay for shipping the item back.

Great products and service. I was able to order everything I needed to add a tow hitch and ball to my 2006 Jeep liberty. Very fast shipping. They even called me to verify orders and availability. Clear and easy to follow installation instructions. I hauled an [retailer] trailer from Texas to Ohio without any issues. Even bought a trailer and use it frequently for hardware stoe runs.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos.

Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-)

I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues.

Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done.

Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-)

All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer.

Buy with confidence from eTrailer.com

I am very pleased with the hitch, ball mount, and electrical package. All were easy to install if you follow the easy to understand directions. An added plus for putting one of these on a MINI is that the hitch can be hidden behind the "black plate/cover" that is on the rear bumper. It looks just like it came out of the factory except when to need to install the ball mount.

The service has been outstanding. This is the place to go.

by:

It was the perfect height for our vehicle/trailer combination. Just figure out what height you need before ordering and life will go a lot better.

by:

Very solid product. It was easy enough to install by myself, although having another set of hands would have sped the process up significantly. Perfect vehicle fit and instructions were clear and concise. Thank you!

I needed an extended ball mount for my new Jeep in order for my utility trailer tongue to clear the rear mounted spare tire. Item is as described on the web site and was received earlier than expected.
etrailer has great customer service and is my number one go to place for towing and trailer supplies.

by:

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done.
Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

Thought I would need the 2" drop to tow the log splitter I purchased, but ended up inverting to the 2" rise to keep the splitter level for towing. Works great

by:

Works great with my 2023 F-250 and my little 5 x 8 utility trailer that I use to transport my 52 inch zero turn lawn mower around with, joined with a 2 inch ball, it keeps the rake on the trailer much more level.

by:

To be honest, I use it upside down. I needed a hitch with rise, but none were available at time of purchase, and yours, inverted, works perfectly! The welds are regularly checked and remain all secure. It's a good hitch.

Very beefy well made

by:

Hasn't fallen off yet

by:

Ez install, works as it should.

by:

Product works okay as the o.d. is small and makes a sloppy fit to the receiver.

by:

The receiver is exactly what I was looking for. Put it on a 2016 chevy traverse and it is the right length for pulling a trailer. Looked at 6 1/2 inch, too short. Quality is good also. I give it 4 stars.

by:

The Ball Mount was noisy upon hitting bumps, uneven road, etc.
I have since gone to a shorter, dampened ball mount but I have to remove the spare tire when I use it!!!

Manufacture’s delivery time became an issue with missed shipping date quoted at time of order. Breanna & Kaleigh in Customer Service took care of the problem and I received the ball mount in time of my need.

I also ordered a 2” ball with the ball mount and pulled my trailer about 500 miles with both of them. The chrome on the ball has flaked off so bad that I have replaced it with a U-Haul ball and the ETrailer ball is in my scrap barrel.

  • Anti-Rattle Device Suggestion while using a Towing Bike Rack and Pop Up Camper
For use while towing with your pop up camper trailer and hitch mounted towing bike rack, the best option would be to use the Anti-Rattle Device for a 2 inch hitch # 63232. This device will eliminate any additional rattling by pulling the ball mount portion of the hitch to one side. It also provides a secure locking mechanism for your hitch. Please keep in mind that this locking device can only be used on hollow hitch devices, it is also advised to remove this locking mechanism when the...

  • Recommended Long Ball Mount That Fits Hitch Ball with 1 Inch Shank to Use with Swagman Traveler XCS
I suggest using the Draw-Tite # 2736 ball mount. It measures 12 inches from the hitch pin hole to the ball hole and will work with your hitch ball that has a 1 inch shank. It also has a 3/4 inch rise. This will give you plenty of room along the ball mount to install the Swagman Traveler XCS Bike Rack # S64664 and still let you tow your popup camper.

  • Towing Trailer and Carrying Bikes with Motorhome
The Surco Ladder Mounted Bike Rack, part # SP501BR includes one strap that would typically be passed through the bike frames, the front wheels and around the ladder, which would prevent the wheels from spinning and would do a pretty good job of keeping the bikes in place. Adding bungees and foam padding of some sort would probably be a good idea if you are wanting to prevent the bikes from being scratched. The Swagman # S80600 would most likely interfere with a trailer, but it would depend...

  • 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Extension for 2014 Dodge Ram with Front Mount Trailer Hitch
I do have a solution that might work for you, though it is not an extender. An extender would reduce your tongue weight capacity of the hitch by half, so it is not the best solution for you. Instead, I recommend a long ball mount. Take a look at # 2736 as an example. It is rated for 5,000 pounds and measures 12 inches long from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. It has a 3/4 inch rise or a 2 inch drop. We also have # BM20. This ball mount measures 13-1/4"...

  • Towing Bike Rack for a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg
This bike rack will work as long as your 2004 Volkswagen Touareg has at least a Class III trailer hitch and a drawbar that has at least 3" of space. The trailer hitch's tongue weight capacity is reduced by the weight of the bike rack and the bikes when towing. If your ball mount does not have the required clearance you could use ball mounts, # 2736 or # D-28. Extra-Long ball mounts with a Rise/Drop usually do not work because of the angled metal supporting the ball mount face.

  • Can Thule Spare Me Bike Carrier Be Mounted On Spare Tire At Rear Of Popup Camper
The spare-mount bike racks we offer are not designed to be used on any towed trailer but I do have a solution for you. If you have a 2 inch trailer hitch I recommend a towing bike carrier like the Swagman Original Towing Bike Rack, part # S64675. This attaches to the ball mount in your trailer hitch and allows you to be able to carry up to 4 bikes between the rear of your vehicle and the camper. A longer ball mount is needed for this bike rack. You can check out part # 2736 or part...

  • Will Drawbar Fit 2009 Chevy Traverse?
I went out to the warehouse and measured ball mount # AMSC2. It is 4.75 inches from the pin hole to the weld. We do have drawbars that could clear the bumper and license plate face. For example, drawbar # 2736 is 7 inches from the pin hole to the weld. This may give you the clearance you need. It is a different design and a capacity of 5,000 lbs, but can get the job done for you. I have included a link to it below.

  • Recommendation for a Bike Rack for Use When Towing a Trailer with a 1996 Jeep Cherokee
There are a couple of options for you to carry a bike a rack and tow a trailer at the same time. First, you can use a towing rack. I recommend the Curt Clamp-on, part # C18013. It fits around a ball mount shank. A couple of things to note about this method are the ball mount length and the tongue weight. This bike rack requires that the ball mount have a distance of 10 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. If you need a ball mount that is compatible,...

  • Solutions for Towing Forest River Roo Travel Trailer and Carrying Bikes Simultaneously
There are a few different options that might work for you. A towing bike rack can be a good option depending on the tongue weight of your camper. The Curt # C18013 used in conjunction with an extra long ball mount like # 2736 or # D-28 (choose the one with the rise or drop you're needing) might be a good option, but keep in mind that the tongue weight capacity of the hitch would be reduced by the weight of the rack and the bikes. For instance, say the three bikes weigh 100 lbs. The rack...
