Features to know about

Handles Different Trailers Without Swapping Mounts: Three Built-In Hitch Balls

When you tow more than one trailer, constantly changing mounts gets old fast. This setup keeps it simple with three permanently attached balls—1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16". Just remove, rotate, and reinsert the drawbar to match the coupler size you need. Each ball is chrome-plated for long-term durability, giving you the right connection every time without digging through extra gear.

Adds a Solid Tow Point When You Need Recovery Power: Built-In Tow Hook

Sometimes you’re not just towing—you’re pulling something stuck or helping recover a load. The built-in tow hook gives you a ready spot for a tow strap and handles up to 7,500 lbs. It’s integrated into the same solid steel shank, so you can count on it when you need reliable pulling strength on the job or trail.

Built for Serious Loads: Up to 10,000 lbs GTW

Heavy trailers demand real strength, and this mount delivers. Rated for 3,500 lbs with the 1-7/8" ball, 5,000 lbs with the 2" ball, and 10,000 lbs with the 2-5/16" ball, it’s designed to handle a wide range of towing needs. Tongue weights go from 350 lbs up to 1,000 lbs depending on ball size. The solid steel shank adds rigidity so your connection stays tight under load.

Stays Clean and Strong Over Time: Gloss Black Powder Coat

Road grime and salt can eat through lesser finishes, but this mount’s black powder coat helps keep rust at bay. The gloss finish pairs with the chrome-plated balls to look clean even after repeated use. It’s a setup built to last through seasons of towing without losing its edge.

Simple Drop-Free Fit: Fixed, Level Shank Design

No rise or drop means fewer moving parts and a straightforward connection that sits level in your receiver. The solid shank slides easily into any 2" x 2" hitch receiver and locks in place with a standard hitch pin or lock (sold separately). It’s steady, dependable gear that just works every time you hook up.

Video Transcript for All About the Curt Multi-Ball Mount w/ Tow Hook for 2" Hitches

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt multi-ball mount with the included tow hook. This is designed for 2 inch by 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. This ball mount with the built-in hedge balls is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank portion, which is this portion right here, it slights into the receiver tube of your hitch, and then the hitch balls are going to provide the connection point for your trailer coupler. This one is going to feature 3 differently sized hitch balls. That way you can tow trailers with different coupler sizes.

To switch between each ball, all you have to do is remove, rotate, and reinsert the draw bar. The hitch balls are welded to that draw bar or to that shank. Those are going to be chrome-plated steel balls that are permanently attached, and then on this side, we're going to have the sturdy tow hook that's going to provide an attachment point for a tow strap. The shank is a solid shank so it does not have a hollow design. It's a nice, solid design. It's extra strong and durable, steel construction, and it's going to have a black, powder-coated finish to resist rust and corrosion and last a long time.

When you're inserting this into your hitch, it's going to have a set of pin holes. You're going to have this set right here, which will be perfect for using the tow hook or for using the 2-5/16 inch ball, and then you're going to have this set right here, which is going to be perfect for using the 2 inch ball or the 1-7/8 inch ball. These pin holes will accept a standard 5/8 inch diameter pin. Your hitch pin and clip or hitch lock is sold separately, so if you're in need of something like that, you can check out some options here at etrailer.com. Again, this is designed for a 2 inch by 2 inch trailer hitch receiver. A few capacities to go over with you real quick.

When using the 1-7/8 inch ball, it's going to have a gross towing weight capacity of 3,500 pounds with a maximum tongue weight of 350 pounds. The 2 inch ball, the is going to have a gross towing weight of 5,000 pounds with a max tongue weight of 500 pounds. Then, the 2-5/16 inch ball is going to have a gross towing weight capacity of 10,000 pounds with a maximum tongue weight of 1,000 pounds. Then, when it comes to the capacity of the hook, that's going to have a capacity of 7,500 pounds. A few measurements that I just want to mention for you real quick. I took a measurement from the center of each pin hole location, so, for instance, if you're wanting to use the 2 inch ball or 1-7/8 ball, you're going to use this set right here, so from the center of these pin holes to the center of each one of those hitch balls, that's going to measure about 8 inches.

Then, if you're wanting to use the tow hook or the 2-5/16 inch ball, that's going to use this set of pin holes. From the center of that set of pin holes to the center of the 2-5/16 inch ball is going to measure about 6-3/4 of an inch. That's going to do it for today's look at the Curt multi-ball mount with tow hook for 2 inch hitches.

Works as intended. Quite a simple product. However, very prone to rusting inside the hitch. Kind of a mess to take in an out now because of this.

by:

Ugh, that does not look good. Let me get you over to our customer service department for them to get this taken care of for you.

by:

Easy installation. Good price. Quick service. What more could you ask for?

by:

Well built hitch. Convenient to have three balls on one hitch.

by:

Good sturdy product

by:

Excellent service! However the website makes it easy to see which hitches are made in the USA, but not the accessories pieces like this. I would appreciate every item being clearly labeled for the country of origin.

This mount will be used on the three point hitch of my tractor, which will facilitate moving a variety of trailers. The hook should come in handy too!

The drawbar or shank with three towing balls and a hook arrived today. Looks as expected. Sturdy - heavier than expected, but knew it was solid metal. Looking forward to using it. etrailer shipped it out and it was in my hands in less than 5 days with ordinary shipping. Excellent service. Got what I expected.

I bought a Curt multi-ball mount w/tow hook for 2" hitches. I bought this to replace one I had that I had to transfer to another company truck. We use these to pull trailers. the Curt mount that I purchased has a higher rating than the one it replaces. I liked the price. Better than going to a local brick and mortor. They wanted same price for much lower rated mount. Very satisfied.

by:

A little long, but well made

by:

Cool to follow up on your product. The multi-ball works as it should. I bought it since I didn't know if the trailer I would get would be 2" or 2 1/4. I tow a 4,000 # trailer/race car with it.

It's a heavy piece to carry around, but I feel that it will last a good many years. I did make a spacer to cram into the receiver, so the hitch doesn't rattle as much.
Otherwise it's great.

Pleased with the parts. Was a little surprised/disappointed that the ball mount didn’t include a hitch pin. Guess that I should have read the description better, just a nuisance having to get one separately. Everything else was great.
