Video Transcript for Hands-On with the Thule Roof Bike Racks Replacement 92mm T-Screw

Today we have the replacement T screw. This is gonna be the longer 92-millimeter screw that goes in the front cradle of your Thule roof-mounted bike racks. If you're curious about which bike racks this fit, double check the description on our product page below where we name out the bike racks, and you can confirm this fits yours. Today, I have it on the Thule Pro Ride XT. Now this bike rack arrived with two of these screws for the front and this allows you to mount your rack to different types of crossbars. However, if you need to replace these because you lost or broke them, this is gonna be your exact replacement part.

So I have our bike rack here on the roof. Now, I have some Thule crossbars on. So, the proper way to install this bike rack is using the T-mount hardware. But this is still a good opportunity to show how this bolt works together. So, first you have this wraparound bracket, which would go around your crossbar.

You would then get your T bolt, and then this goes up through that bracket and then secures up with the proper lever. So, if you are trying to build your own clamping system and you need this bolt, you also have to keep in mind that you need to make sure you have the other components, too. The top part which is gonna be this lever, requires a barrel nut to secure, as well as a locking lever and the other front lever. These are available here at each trailer. And then all of this will work together to make sure that you can secure the front cradle assembly of your Thule roof-mounted bike rack to your vehicle.

So this all works together as one system. So, if you need to replace this longer bolt, just remember that you need two of them so they can go on both sides.
