Bike Frame Adapter Bar

Swagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Easy InstallationSwagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Easy Installation

This adapter bar allows you to carry a bike with a sloping top tube or step-through frame on your bike rack. It fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to ensure level transport on your hanging-style bike rack. It also creates a top tube so you can carry your bike on frame-mount platform-style rack. The spring-loaded bar telescopes to fit multiple frame sizes, and it can be used with no-rise bike stems.

Easy Installation

Swagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Vinyl Collars

To install the adapter bar simply open the hooks with the integrated release buttons, wrap one hook around your handlebar stem post and the other around your seat post, and close the hooks. The hooks open outward - parallel with the bar - to help you avoid interference from the seat and handlebars during installation. The bar has red "Up" indicators on each end to help prevent incorrect installation. The hooks have a vinyl coating that won't scratch or scuff your bikes' paint.

Works fine

by:

The adapter bar is probably fine if you have to have it-the quality of the part seems fine. Don’t buy it from etrailer though if you think you might need to return it. Unlike [online stores], they don’t accept returns on bike racks if you have assembled the rack, so they may well have the same policy for this adapter. I bought the HR1500 bike rack with these adapter bars, but the right solution would have been the HR1700. They won’t allow exchanges or returns.

by:

I would advise anyone if they are considering ordering anything from etrailer to make sure it's what you want because if you have to return it you have to pay for shipping and what is left you will be waiting for a long time before you get it back! be careful!

by:

Works as advertised. We have two different types of Fat Tire Ebikes and both are step thru style. Perfect for putting on and clamping them down on the bike rack for travel. Great accessory.

by:

I've needed this bar adapter for my trek ebike "step-through" for my particular bike rack which hooks onto the bikes. It has worked just fine in providing a way for the bike to be secured onto the rack.

by:

These fit perfectly on our Lectric eBikes and helped ensure they are secure to our swagman eBike approved bike rack.

by:

would like it lockable, so I didn't need add'l lock to my bike rack other than the holddown that loops over the bar to hold the bike in...

by:

I used it once to transport my wife’s bike in for service and it chipped the paint on the bars of the bike. Need some sort of rubber protectors at each end to protect the bike.

by:

This bar is quick and easy to use. It has flexibility to fit any bike and is plenty strong. It allows us to attach our step through bikes to our rack. Very happy with the purchase.

by:

Works great with the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack and the step through Letric bike.

by:

Been using it quite a bit and am happy with the e bike rack. Very well built and functional.

by:

Seems to be too long for my Heybike cityscape but we seem to have it secured to the rack.

by:

I bought this item but found something more suitable for my specific application. Called to return and Nicole was great. No hassle return. Will continue to shop with etrailer in the future.

by:

The bar was easy to install and worked exactly as it was designed. Our bikes will be quite stable on our bike rack.

by:

This is a great all around product that allows almost any bike to adapt to the bike rack.

by:

Returned this item because it
Turned
out I didn’t need it for our Lecteic step thru bikes.

by:

Speed and service excellent. Box came a bit banged up but no damage to item so very happy with etrailer.

by:

Good quality and heavy duty allowing us to load two E-bikes.

by:

This is a better bar than the cheap one I bought prior to this purchase, but this bar has poor figment and the jury is out on how long it will last.

by:

I placed the order and then it was quiet. I called and was told Aug but someone checked and found me a piece for the rack and I am all set. A call or e-mail would have been helpful.

  • What is the Best E-Bike Rack for an RV and a Toyota Highlander?
The Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" # S94FR is the perfect rack for both RVs and your Toyota Highlander. It has the construction that will stand against the added torque when mounted with bikes at the end of your RV. It also has a high maximum per-bike weight capacity of 70 pounds. The Fat Tire Adapter Kit for Swagman G10 and E-Spec Bike Racks # S64679 will allow you to attach fat-tire bikes. For the step-through bike, I recommend the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar...

  • How Do I Secure a Women's Bike or an Alternate-Frame Style Electric Bike to My Bike Rack?
The best solution is to purchase the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Electric, Step Through, and Cruiser Bikes # S57FR for the non-electric women's bike and any electric bike that has a step-through or alternative frame. The adapter bar will give you a straight horizontal plane to attach and secure your bike to the bike rack. It must be noted that some bike racks do not require bike frame adapter bars because the attaching points are more versatile. If you want me to confirm if your...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for a 72-Pound E-Bike
With a bike as heavy as 72 pounds, we only have two options able to carry that much. The first is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Se, part # HLY84FR. It's a platform-style, frame-mount rack capable of holding 2 bikes up to 80 pounds each. I've linked to a video review of this below. The second is the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO, part # LGA77FR. This one's a hanging-style, wheel-mount rack capable of holding 2 bikes up to 75 pounds each. Neither of these have plate holders or lights,...

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches, part # HLY84FR, will be able to transport these two bikes. The rack can support up to 80lbs per bike. The rack is also fat tire compatible. The rack can tilt while loaded with bikes, giving you access to the rear of the vehicle. It has anti-rattle hitch receiver lock which helps do away with extra movement in your rack while locking the rack to your vehicle. The arms that secure the bike lock as well. Since...

  • Bike Adapter Bar For Day 6 e-Bike
Hey Dennis, that's a pretty neat bike. I tried to track down specs specific to the frame/post diameter but couldn't find anything solid. Just looking at other specs and pictures though, it doesn't seem significantly larger than typical e-bikes, so I think the Swagman Adapter Bar (Large) # S57FR will work really well. You can verify it'll fit though by taking a quick measurement of both the handlebar stem and seat post diameter on the Day 6. This adapter bar will fit perfectly as long...

  • Bike Rack For Step-Thru Ebikes For Front Hitch
Hey Kenneth, thanks for the question and it's a good one as you're right, there are some bike racks deemed not suitable for use on a front hitch. So I did some digging, and since there's only a couple options for your 71 lb step-thru ebikes, the best one that you can use for the front hitch is the Thule Epos Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH99XE. I spoke to Thule about this and there isn't a specific restriction, they just said they hadn't tested it, so this is an option if you're comfortable...

  • Will the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack Work With Two Step-Through Frame Bikes
The Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack part # S94FR can usually accommodate one step-through frame bike without needing an adapter by switching the small and long hook around but for two step-through frame bikes I do recommend as least one adapter, the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # S57FR.

  • Will the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes Work with Electric Bikes with Fenders?
I have a solution for you. Here at etrailer, we highly discourage the use of wheel-mount style bike racks when transporting bikes with fenders. With that being said, even if the front wheel of your Macwheel did safely attach to the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # KU84FR, the rear wheel fender would interfere with the rack. For a solution to this problem, I recommend the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S94FR....

I have a couple of parts that will make a great combination and do exactly what you are looking for. They are the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack item # S94FR and the Saris Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks item # SAR36VR. This combo is extremely popular with our Jeep customers because it not only clears the spare tire but also swings away towards the passenger side so the rear can be opened. • E-Bike Rack Recommendation for Rear Bumper on Travel Trailer
It is definitely possible! You'll need to start off by adding a hitch receiver to your bumper and for that I recommend part # e38HR which gives you a 2" receiver with a 300 lb weight rating. Then for a bike rack I recommend the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack # S94FR which has been rated for use at the back of a trailer (not all bike racks have this rating) and can hold up to 70 lb bikes. The E-Spec secures the bikes by using a ratcheting hook that comes down on the frame so it's compatible...

  • Will the Thule T2 Pro XTR Work with Two Electric Bikes with Fenders on My 2022 Acura MDX?
I have a solution for you. Here at etrailer, we highly discourage using a wheel-mount bike rack like the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # TH83JV when using bikes with fenders. The wheel mounts increase the possibility for cracking and damage of the fenders. With that being said, a great alternative hitch bike rack is one that uses a frame-mount style. I did some research on your 2019 Subaru Crosstrek, and the manufacturer recommends not to exceed a tongue weight of 150 pounds on your vehicle. The Swagman Quad 2+2 rack has a carrier weight of 86 pounds, which is high considering you need to account for the added weight of four bikes.
