Jeff Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Redarc single cable gland. Now, this is a nice, simple waterproof solution for either the positive or negative solar panel wire to pass through your RV roof. Basically, this cable fitting will protect the single wire as it goes into the roof of your RV. So basically, what you have is your hole in your roof, and then instead of your wire just going into there, what you wanna do is put that over the hole.
And then you'll run one to install that into there. Remove the cap here, run this over the wire, and then run your wire back in there. Slide this up to here, tighten that down, and that'll help hold the wire in place as it goes into your roof of your RV. Now, this is an ABS molded plastic construction. And when you do install this to the roof, you do wanna use a suitable adhesive to seal around this gland to the RV roof.
And you can see when it is installed, it is nice, aesthetically pleasing. There's no sharp edges on it to help protect the wire. Few specs on this, we're gonna measure this portion right here. The length, right at 3 1/2 inches. Width, right at two inches.
And the overall height, also right at two inches tall. But that should do it for the review on this Redarc single cable gland..
