Hello, neighbors. I'm Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the Thru Axle Skewer Adapter for your Yakima WheelHouse Bike Tire Carrier. Now, folks, here's the picture of that tire carrier, what it looks like. And this adapter that we have here today is gonna let you secure a wheel with either a 12 millimeter or 15 millimeter thru axle to your Yakima WheelHouse. Now you can buy that Yakima WheelHouse separately.
That item number is Y02108. Again, that WheelHouse is sold separately. Now folks, this simply replaces your wheel's thru axle skewer and then slides onto your carrier's nine millimeter fork. The cam lever here quickly secures your wheel to the carrier. Everything here is threaded, just like you're used to on the other ones.
You got plenty of space in between here for the forks to go. And again, you just cinch it down like normal. Nice stainless steel construction. It's gonna prevent rust, corrosion. And the fork dropout spacing is 100 to 110 millimeters.
It has a nice lifetime limited warranty. Again, a direct part from Yakima, so you can be sure it's gonna work with that Yakima WheelHouse Bike Tire Carrier. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.

Well designed. Adapter can be inserted through the wheel hub without removing the retaining nut, speeding up mounting/dismounting the wheel on the carrier. Reasonably priced, as Yakima parts go.
exact what i need, works
glad this product is available. warning on package says to use it only on yakima racks. It seems like it will work on a thule wheel carrier. I assume that the slot on the thule wheel carrier fork may be wider than a yakima setup so I plan to use a washer between the nut and the carrier to make sure there is adequate surface area for the nut to bear on the fork blade.
The product is great, does exactly what it should. The instructions say to use only with a Yakama wheel holder, but it works great with my Thule Wheel On.
The only bummer was it took a while to deliver (3 weeks). But I appreciate that etrailer reached out within a few days of ordering to let me know there would be a delay and followed up to confirm the ship date before it shipped.
I bought this item because my new MTB has through axles front and back. My old Thule wheel carrier was for the regular skewer type wheel holder. The package says use only on Yakama carriers, but it works just fine on a Thule holder. I am not sure why Thule doesn't make one of these yet. This will keep you from having to buy a new skewer holder too. Great product.

Lets you put a thru-axle mountain bike wheel on a Delta Wheel Hitch designed for a road bike wheel. Works like a charm!
Just what the doctor ordered. Let's me use an older wheel carrier with a through-axle wheel.

Just what was needed at a good price
Fits on my Yakima wheelhouse for my 12mm thruaxle wheels
It appears to fit OK, but I won't use it till March, so can't comment on
it further at this time.

These skewers are not the same design as Yakima fork mount skewers. The skewer adapter needs more eccentricity. The cam eccentricity of the skewer adapter is about 164. The difference between loose and unbreakable is about a quarter turn of the retaining nut. Therefore, getting the desired tightness of the skewer requires alternately tighteningloosening the nut and clamping down the skewer multiple times. I cant believe Yakima saved any money using different cams between the two.
