Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement driver side fender assembly for the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly. Now this part here replaces the left side driver side fender assembly with the built-in LED brake tail and turn signal light for your Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly. Now, those tow dollies we do sell separate on our website. There's two of 'em.
One is part number DM9713045. And the other one is DM9713049. Now this kit right here will include the fender assembly with the lighting. It is as we mentioned, an LED taillight. Comes with a side marker light, right back here you can see.
And then, the reflector is one right over here and one right over here. Comes with the wiring harness and the connectors. The mud flap with the hardware to install it. There's two holes right under the taillight so it would install right under there. And then, it also comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how these parts all go together.
Now the fender itself is a polyethylene construction. (fender thumping) You can see it has a nice galvanized gray finish to it to resist rust and chipping. Now, this is the driver side assembly. If you do need the passenger side assembly, we do also sell that, and that goes by part number of DR74FR. But that should do it for our review on this replacement driver side fender assembly for the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly.

I have installed one side. All went well.
There was no access hole to run the electrical harness to the taillight. The harness did not fit well under the taillight mount.
Great fender. Wiring instructions could be better but easy enough to figure out.

Thank you for the quick shipping. I will replace the other fender assy tomorrow. In turning tightly to fuel at the end pumps at Love's fueling stations, the bumper contacted the front left tire on the tote, damaging the old assembly. Have to figure out a better way to fuel...

The OEM finders cracked where the light housing was pop riveted to the finder. On a recent trip the lights on the replacement fenders fell out of the housing but were retained by the wiring. The rubber grommets were lost. You said I could get a complete new light assembly but not just the rubber retaining grommets, not a very cost effective option. My road repair was Gorilla clear waterproof seal tape, not a good advertisement for Demco kar kaddy quality.

I like the steel "Y" shaped steel fender mounting bracket. It might be better at preventing the cracking and excessive vibration of the original single "over the top" steel strap.
The mud flap is a different color and style from the original and the mounting holes in the flap and fender do not align properly. The angle of the bolt will place stress on the plastic fender and HOPEFULLY not lead to it's cracking as that has been a major problem with the fenders that came on the Kar Kaddy SS dolly.
This was a good replacement fender. However, I only bought it so I could sell the dolly which I did right after replacing the fender. The problem with these plastic fenders it that they have a tendency to crack and come apart on the road. Also they self destruct when you blow a tire.
Wire harness was still wrong but I use a butt connector to make it work,
New fenders are not constructed the same as original. More plastic less metal. Also do not come with new metal mounting plates to reinforce where the fender is bolted on.
I feel that better connectors could have been used connecting the running light on the front of fender to the brake/rear light. otherwise, everything was ok with installation.
It would have been better if the lights were connected & entirely installed. There is also a size difference compared to the fender I currently have.
I had a blowout on my dolly that shredded the fender. The replacement was perfect. And the lighting was updated from the original.

The mud flap is black the picture shows white which is the color I hoped for as it would match my other mud flap.

You mentioned that your mud flaps do not match. What were the color of the original mud flaps? What color did you receive on the new one.
