Video Transcript for Review of Camco RV Water Heater - CAM35963

Hello, neighbors. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our CAMCO RV winterization bypass kit with a 12 inch hose for your 10 gallon water heaters. Now folks, this would be a permanent install once you install it, meaning you would put it on and leave it in and not have to worry about it year-round. So this kit's gonna include the hose. You can get your connections there with the rubber gasket.

Both valves needed to keep antifreeze out of your RV water heater during that winterization process. Now, you're gonna save gallons of antifreeze by using this kit and you get two three-way valves that stay connected year-round. You simply open the valves to bypass the setting. open the valves to Bypass setting, to then direct the flow through the hose, and then you close the bypass to use your water heater as normal when it's time to use it again. These are brass valves, so they're gonna resist corrosion and provide an unrestricted passage for liquid.

Now, they are nylon reinforcement as far as the hose itself, so it's kink resistant, durable, and mold resistant. Now, it's a simple installation. You should not need any tools required. You're gonna get some PTFE tape included, some people call it Teflon tape, and again, 12 inch hose. All this for a 10 gallon water heater.

That's gonna wrap it up, folks. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.

  • RV Water Heater Bypass Hose Lengths For Winterization
I reached out to my contact at Camco and they only make the 8 inch and 12 inch hoses. Valterra is the other manufacturer we carry that has those bypass hoses and they are 8-1/2 inches end to end or 12-13/4 inches according to my contact at Valterra. These are the more standard sizes for the 6 gallon and 10 gallon water heaters. I recommend going with the 12 inch hose found in the Camco RV Winterization Bypass Kit w/ 12" Hose # CAM35963 as that extra length will not be an issue when bypassing...

  • Winterizing Valve System Replacement for 2011 Voltage Toy Hauler
The B and B winterizing valve you have currently on your 2011 Voltage TH is the same thing basically as the Camco Replacement 3-Way Valve for Winterization Bypass Kits # CAM37463 that you referenced. This is the correct replacement for the kit part # CAM35953 (6 gallon water heater kit) or the part # CAM35963 (10 gallon water heater kit). Since you are looking to replace your different system with a valve like this the better choice would be either of the kits mentioned based on the water...

  • RV Winterization Quick-Turn Water Heater Bypass Kit Recommendation
I spoke with my contact over at Camco and he was very adamant about removing the PVC and using brass fittings that come in one of the kits: # CAM35953 for a 6 gallon water heater or # CAM35963 for a 10 gallon. Apparently the PVC ones do not hold up well.
