Question:
I have two trailers, one with EZ Lube hubs and 5 bolts, another without EZ Lube and 6 bolts both systems were purchased from you. Id like to swap the drum/hubs so that I can use 6 bolt wheels on the trailer that now has 5 bolt hubs. Is there any issue with swapping EZ Lube hubs and non EZ lube hubs? Other than of course losing the EZ Lube capability. Thank you

Expert Reply:
If both hubs are compatible with the same bearings and you can find a seal compatible with the diameter of the hub bore and the journal surface of the spindle, you can swap the hubs from the EZ lube to the regular spindle. Since the EZ lube system is contained in the spindle, it doesn't matter to the hub.
I looked at your order history, and saw that the 5 lug hub/drum you previously purchased was part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. This hub uses a # L68149 inner and a # L44649 outer bearing and a 10-9 seal. For a 6 lug on a 5-1/2 inch bolt circle wheel, you can swap it with a # 84656UC3, which is designed for a standard spindle.
