The surge brake equipment of your trailer consists of the brake lines, drum brakes and the brake actuator. To ensure I recommend the correct parts for your trailer I will need a little more information.

A brake line kit is pretty universal. For a single axle trailer, I recommend using part # T4829900. This kit comes with all of the lines and fittings you will need to replace everything from the actuator to the brake assemblies.

For an actuator, I would need to know what type of actuator you currently have and the overall weight of your trailer and boat. Some boat trailers have actuators built into the channel of the tongue. We do not carry these actuators, but if your actuator is simply welded or bolted to the tongue, then we can find a replacement that will work for you.

There are several different options for brakes. All of the 10 inch hydraulic brake assemblies we carry use a 4 bolt mounting pattern, so you will want to make sure your current brakes use a 4 bolt pattern as well to mount to the brake mounting flanges on the axle. If they use a 4 bolt pattern, then you could use our Titan Uni-Servo Hydraulic Brake Assemblies, # T1878700 (right side) and # T1878800 (left side). If your actuator does not have a lockout, then I recommend going with free-backing brakes like part # T4071500 (right side) and # T4071600 (left side).

If you load and unload in salt water, then I recommend using galvanized brakes like part # 18787 (right side) and # 18788 (left side). All of the brake assemblies I mentioned fit 3,500 lb axles with drums that have a 10 inch inner diameter.

I have attached a help article that covers all parts needed to add hydraulic brakes to a trailer. It covers all of the parts that you need and how to choose the correct parts for your trailer.
