Can I Swap My Coleman Mach Q 15 to the Furrion Chill with an Adapter, or do I Need a New Set-up?

Question:

Hey ya’ll. I am replacing the ac on my fifth wheel. The original unit is a Coleman Mach Q 15 powersaver. I am replacing it with a Furrion CHILL CUBE 18 and would like to know what wiring harness adapter/ install kit I need?

Hi Nathaniel,

Great choice on switching to the Furrion Chill 18,000 BTU! You're going to love the performance and efficiency it brings.

One of the biggest advantages of the switch is that Furrion has upgraded their refrigerant from R410A to the more eco-friendly R32 this year. R32 not only has a significantly lower global warming potential, but it's also more efficient at transferring heat, which means better cooling performance with less energy usage, a win-win for both your comfort and the environment.

It’s also worth noting that because of this refrigerant change, you'll need to go with an entirely new setup, as R32 systems are not compatible with previous R410A components. Also, the Furrion Chill 18K is designed to work only with its proprietary thermostat.

Here are your setup options:

- Ducted: Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR99TD

- Ductless: Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box - Ductless - 18,000 Btu - White # FR59TD

Did the Mach Q 15 stop working, or are you just excited about the new Chill?

@Nathaniel I really wish we had an adapter that would make an easier swap, but with the new refrigerant being released this year, it is impossible.
