Will Furrion Chill Cube Work to Replace Dometic Brisk II Air Conditioners

Updated 11/04/2025 | Published 01/28/2025

Question:

Ive got to replace 3 Dometic Brisk 2 top units that were damaged by a tree limb. One in the garage has a heat strip. I know the Furrion upper is a plug and play option but what about the furrion heat strip with the dometic controls. What are my options with installing a heat strip in the Furrion AC in a ducted system controlled by a dometic thermostat.

Hey Kenneth, thanks for reaching out and your patience while I was in contact with people from Furrion!

I wasn't able to get an exact response from them yet about the Chill Cube, but from what I've gleaned it looks like you'll need whole new AC kits to completely replace your Dometic Brisk II AC units if you choose to go with that exact model. Furrion does have the Chill HE in Black # FR32PV and White # FR42PV though that come with an adapter plug to make them compatible with the Dometic wiring you currently have.

The Furrion Heat Strip # FR35SR will only work with Furrion AC units that have a distribution box so it won't be compatible with your Dometic thermostat. If your garage has it's own thermostat then you can replace the entire thing with the Chill HE system which comes in the following configurations:

15,000 Btu
- White # FR82PR
- Black # FR72PR

13,500 Btu
- White # FR62PR
- Black # FR42PR

Hopefully all of this makes sense. Please feel free to reach out down below if you have any questions!

Hey Kenneth, how did things go with replacing your Dometic Brisk II units using the Furrion Chill HE setup? I'm curious if the adapter plug made the wiring swap as smooth as expected. Sharing what worked could really help others planning a similar upgrade.

@JonG The front 2 without heat were just plug and play. The rear one I had to change the thermostat to a Furrion thermostat and that worked the rear ac. But the problem with that is the Furrion temp sensor is up in the ac and not on the thermostat so when the front ac was working it would chill down the sensor in the rear ac and cause the rear ac to turn off prematurely. So the customer was not pleased with that scenario. Furrion to my knowledge doesn't have a fix for this other then a third party making a relocation sensor that plugs into the ac up top and you run the wire over to the wall. Makes no sense to put the sensor in the ac and not in the thermostat. Bad design. The customer was going to attempt that fix himself. Never heard from him again so I don't know if that helped or not.

@KennethG We've definitely heard about those pain-points for sure. I actually reached out to Furrion a few weeks ago because someone wanted to know if the sensor was still in that location, and he said that it was designed so that people kept the fan on constantly to get circulation, but that they've moved the sensor to the thermostat now for these units because of the responses they received.
