What Tire Size Can You Replace a 205/75 R-14 Tire With

Updated 06/17/2025 | Published 01/28/2025

Question:

My trailer currently runs 205/75/14, but I am having trouble finding those tires in stock in my area that I can pickup today. Is there another size tire that I can change to while still using the same rims?

Hey Jim, you could also use the 215/75-14 if they have those in stock. We do have the exact size you're looking for in stock with # AM10235 but you wouldn't be able to pick it up same day.

Out of curiosity, what kind of trailer do you have? If you need anything else, please feel free to let me know as well in the comments!

Good morning Bryce, Thank you for the response, I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I don't remember what kind of trailer it is off the top of my head and it is not stored at my house, but it is a 21-foot galvanized boat trailer.

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger truck the came standard with the P205 / 75R14 What is the replacement tire NOT classified as a trailer tire. Auto centers are refusing to mount the “trailer” tires onto a vehicle rim. What to do What to do

@GreensladeM Yeah you will need to source a P rated tire in the size you mentioned as it is not recommended to run a trailer tire on a vehicle.

@JamesonC according to my local Ford dealerships service department. The replacement tire can be a P215/75R14

@Greensladem Yeah that would be a good call. I wish we had vehicle tires I could help you with but at this time we only have trailer tires.
