Recommended Bike Rack For Norco E-Bike On 2023 Thor Compass Motorhome

Question:

recommendation please for e-bike /fat bike rack with ramp for 2023 Thor Compass motor home and also 2018 Ford F-150 both with 2inch receiver. One e-bike is Norco with fenders , front and rear, 54 lbs, second e-bike for wife not purchased yet but doubt it will be heavier. I could take the fenders off , I guess. thank you

Hello Tom, thanks for reaching out. What I recommend for you is the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR. It can hold two e-bikes weighing up to 80 lbs apiece, so plenty strong for your 54 lb bike. It is RV approved so it will work great on your Thor motorhome and your F-150.

This is a frame-mount rack, so fenders will not be an issue. The clamps are adjustable so they can attach to either the cross tube or to the seat/handlebar upright post, so no need to remove the fenders. Overall, it is a very solid USA made rack, and the price point is very competitive compared to other racks with similar features.

Thanks Jesse. The Hollywood doesn't have a ramp for loading however. Would the one with a ramp work for my set up?

@Thomas Ah ok so the ramp is the key. The Swagman Escapee RV Bike Rack # S39SR has a ramp attachment part # S59SR. This is RV approved and can carry bikes weighing up to 60 lbs apiece. The only problem is this is a wheel mount rack, so you would need to remove the fenders from your bike. A better option is the Yakima OnRamp LX # Y88DJ. This comes with a ramp, has an 80 lb per-bike rating and is a frame mount. So you get your ramp and you will not need to remove fenders.
