My boat trailer hand winch was galvanized…but it starting to corrode…also the strap sits outside in the sun. Does anyone make a drawstring, waterproof cover for the winch to protect it from the elements?

Yes, there are a few options. The closest one to what you're describing needing would be the Dutton-Lainson Winch Cover item # DL24051. It measures 10" long x 8" wide x 8" tall. The cover is flexible and there is also the requested draw rope at the bottom.

Another thing you can do is coat your winch strap with the TruXedo Pro-Tex Protectant Spray item # TX1704511. This is typically used on truck tonneau cover and convertible top applications but it will also work very well to provide your winch strap with UV protection equivalent to SPF 30.
