The Frame Rail Holes Are Oval Instead Of Round On 2024 Silverado 2500HD
Question:
I checked the holes on the frame of my 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. These holes are behind the rear tire and would be for the first rail that is closest to the tailgate or end of bed of the truck. On the both sides the bottom hole appears to be smaller than the top hole and not properly round, slightly oval even. The front bracket holes are fine. See photos attached Please advise and thank you. Frank C

Hey Frank, I checked out those photos you sent in; thanks for that info! I really don't see any issue here. Sometimes on older trucks we get issues with major rust in some areas, but the slightly misshaped hole shouldn't pose any issue. We have had some instances where the customer needed to run a drill bit through the hole a couple times to complete the circle or make it more round, so you may need to do that. But the good news is that the bolt won't be threading into the hole, but simple sliding through and fasten in place with a nut.
