Does Tow Package Affect Install on etrailer Trailer Hitch on 2005 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I ordered trailer hitch and wiring harness for my 2005 Toyota Highlander v6 from your company. I assumed it did not have factory tow package when I ordered. There are 2 brackets with 2 bolts I have to remove with 1 hole empty. Will the effect my hitch installation? I’m now unclear what constitutes factory tow package? Thanks

The factory tow package won't affect the install of the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98857 on your 2005 Toyota Highlander. I believe what you are talking about are tie-down brackets, which are on some models of Highlander. You'll just remove those and it won't have any impact at all on the hitch or the install.

Thanks Kyle. I also ordered wiring harness for Highlander without tow package. I still am confused on what constitutes a tow package or not on my vehicle. Hopefully I ordered the correct wiring harness assembly as well. Thank you for all your expertise. Your company has been a pleasure to work with.
