Question:
I own a 2023 Honda Pilot with towing package installed by Honda. I am considering purchasing a travel trailer that has electric brakes. Does the Honda seven pin round connector provide braking information to operate the trailer brakes? Can you help me?

If your 2023 Honda Pilot does have the tow package with a 7-way then you'll just need to install a brake controller in order to activate the trailer brakes. I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR along with the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED59FR. This brake controller has a tiny footprint for an easy installation and factory look, unlike most other bulky models on the market. The plug-and-play wire harness will make installation easy since there won't be any splicing to do.
Once installed the controller will need to be calibrated by driving around and stopping a few times. Afterwards, when connected to the trailer your control knob will light up and then automatically activate the brakes on the trailer when you step on the brake pedal in the Pilot. The control knob is an easy 0-10 dial to choose your brake sensitivity so you'll be able to control the ride quality while stopping.
