I do have some potential solutions for you, but we are not aware of any kind of adapter that would go from a 2" hitch to a 2-1/2" hitch. An adapter like that would cause a lot of folks to overload their 2" hitches. The 2" hitches are only rated for so much weight. Also keep in mind that the use of a hitch adapter/extender will effectively decrease your tongue weight capacity by half. Using an adapter plus an extension would drastically decrease your towing capacity, and this would not be a safe or stable way to tow. Since there is no adapter, there may be a few other routes we can go here, depending on what you are trying to do. Aside from buying a new truck, there are two options we can look into.
First, there may be a 2-1/2" hitch receiver option for your vehicle. If you can tell me the year, make and model, I can certainly see if we have anything. This would allow you to use your hitch extension, and still retain a decent amount of weight capacity. This would of course involve removing the current hitch receiver and installing a new one.
Second would be to purchase an extension that will fit into a 2" receiver. I am not sure exactly how long of an extension you are needing. For a 2" hitch we have as short as 7" # HE06 or all the way up to 18" # e48YR. Again I am not sure exactly what you are trying to do here, but if you want to send a bit more info I am happy to look into it further and see what we can do.
