How To Wire 240v Generator Power And 120v Shore Power To A Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch

Hi there. Im looking at Item Number 34270278. My question is basic. I will have two power busses on my system. One is the normally used 240VAC generator power. The other is a rarely used 120V shore power. I want to use this transfer switch as a safeguard to protect my equipment. If both are on at once, all equipment should be protected and only one voltage should go through. What voltage would pass through in this case? Is there a more appropriate device that I should be using? Thanks kindly in advance.

The Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 34270278 lists in the instruction manual that the generator will be dominant power source so you would just need to wire the generator 240v to the generator input side and shore power 120v to the shore line input side. I've copied the wiring instructions below:

1. Connect the powercord neutral to the powercord lug labeled NEUTRAL WHT.
2. Connect powercord hot 1 and hot 2 to powercord lugs HOT 1 BLK and HOT 2 RED.
3. Connect the generator neutral(s) to generator lug labeled NEUTRAL WHT.
4. Connect generator hot 1 and hot 2 to generator lugs HOT 1 BLK and HOT 2 RED.
5. Connect output to panel or other destination to the applicable “panel” lugs. The bypass switch should be in the “off” position (marked “1”).

If generator 240v power is present the transfer switch should automatically switch to it (with a minor delay on startup for the voltage to stabilize) and when not present it should switch to shore power.
