Can The Excel RV Tankless Water Heater Be Connected To A 1lb Propane Tank Bottle
Question:
Will this heater work with a 1lb propane tank with the correct connections?

Yes, you could use a 1lb propane tank with the Excel RV Tankless Water Heater # EX93FR, but you would need to install a regulator and use the appropriate fittings. A 1lb propane tank will typically have a 1"-20 fitting so you would need to use the Disposable Propane Bottle Adapter # 37207-30185 on the bottle and could thread it into a regulator like part # 108221 or # 108220.
The key to regulators is to ensure that the vents are facing down so water and debris can't get into them. This means you'll have to plan the route of line running from the bottle to the water heater and choose the correct style (horizontal or vertical) regulator.
These two specific regulators have a 3/8" Female NPT outlet so you would need a 3/8" male NPT fitting to connect to them and then a 1/2" female NPT fitting on the other end of the hose to connect to the water heater. We don't currently have fittings in a 1/2" size so this adapter hose would have to be sourced from your local hardware store.
I do want to note that while you can do this a 1lb propane tank will not last very long and you'd be better off connecting to a 20 or 30lb tank.
